The entire world is getting corrupted day by day.

With all of these wars being fought overseas, financial corporations paying large sums of money to control the economy both domestic and foreign, it is all beginning to make sense to me. Now I see why all of these individuals are rising up against the governments who failed to protect their people. I feel like we are in a time where it will be hard to trust one another. I am not sure if it is just a genetic trait that us humans have inherited where we feel we have to subject others to our greed, but one thing is for sure, that is something is truly rampant today. I guess all it takes is a small spark to light up the entire fire. What does everyone else here on ATS think?

Study history friend wars have always been fought in far flung places to secure resources and cheap labour has always been exploited by the powerful,there is nothing new under the sun except these days we have stealth bombers instead of bronze swords.

Who's rising up against their government?
This weekend the G20 agreed to bail out European Banks - contrary to the people's wishes.
The US Government, along with the most extreme Islamic government on Earth, Saudi Arabia, are pushing for another wide scale war - contrary to the people's wishes.
The police moved in to remove the Loiterers in the Park - and what did the people do? They agreed and moved out.
You guys still don't even get that the governments are irrelevant. They ARE the bone that's been thrown to us to keep us believing that we have any voice or opinion whatsoever.
We are born slaves, human resources. Once people realize that, THEN things might change.

Update 9 and a half years later :

Still nobody's rising up against government :they give us free money now !!

Sprawling global groups, largely alien to Joe-Bag-of-Donuts : still making decisions that squeeze the little guys.

Wars still being waged by bankers, with the sons of the poor folks shaking in the trenches.

Police and City-Councils still beating-down the destitute and homeless.

Plenty still vote in fake elections, for fake politicians, made out of sound bytes and video bits.

Humanity still enslaved, and largely ignorant to their condition.

Yet hope still springs eternal, and maybe more and more folks are 'waking up' ?

So we should stop striving for a more peaceful world?

By your logic, the newly created Republican party in 1860 should have been told to 'study history' and back off because slavery 'had always been'?

Wait, that is EXACTLY what the democrats told them, just before starting a bloody civil war to keep their slaves.

Also. You do realize there are a few minor differences between the stealth bombers and bronze swords, right? In terms or reach and lethality, THAT certainly hasn't 'always been that way'.

And that most human beings on the planet strive to improve the place, not destroy it, right?

To do better than our better than our ancestors did?

Or maybe you think we should just go back to the Crusades, because why change now, right?

'The entire world' is an exaggeration, especially since 'world' is more or less a philosophical construct, and not something tangible - everyone can live in 'their own world' to an extent, so what is corrupt?

Even if we are talking about a planet, there's no way every single grain of sand (for example), or every molecule on some squirrel's tail, or every single atom in a forest tree is corrupted.
