I have awakened lately to a trap that i was born into and there really is no way to escape.
Let me put it like this...

I am just a everyday guy with a level head and living an everyday life ticking along in my own way. I am not religious really but respect the idea of religion and im not a rebel or a tree hugger but for some reason i awoke one morning recently realising a startling fact that really made me question a lot of things.

I always thought i was free to choose and although i do have a choice fundamentally my conscience has been indocterined so that i don't.

From the age of four i was told i had to go to school till i am 16 and get high grades. At the age of 16 i was told i have to have a good job and work till im 65. At the age of 65 i will now be told that i cant retire till im near 70.

Some other things I must comply with....

That if i marry i can never divorce
That i must behave a particular way.
That if i work i must pay taxes
That if i work i must pay healthcare
That if i work i must pay into a state pension even though its a high possibility i wont receive any back
That i must also take a private pension because of the above.
That i must wear a seat Belt.
That i must not be racist.
That i must not have an opinion about anything or anyone.
That i must not offend anybody.
That i must not eat this or eat that.
That i must not drink this or that or not to much.
That i must exercise continuously.
That basically if i fail any of the above i am a burden to society in one shape or another.

To me now i cant even work out in theory if i am actually living my life or am i a means to an end for some endless machine.

By the way im not a depressive or anything just a realist
lol

Nothing worth having is, or should be expected to be easy.
If you don't like what you got, change it, but, it won't be easy.

That i must wear a seat Belt.

Well if you can't see the logic in wearing a seat belt then good luck in life.

What next
That I must not drink and drive?

You should work in a cash industry like i do, I pay no taxes, when I get sick I go to the emergency room or the free clinic and I do not pay the bill, I do have to pay for prescriptions but I have a discount card and some places offer you medical care through the state that pays for these things if you are not working which technically I do not

Now I do not have a lavish lifestyle doing this but what I do have is plenty of free time, I live in a 1000sqft apartment 2 blocks from the beach, I have 4 laptops all newer 1 super nice, I have an ipad, I have 2 cell phones (one with service one I use just wifi on like a small tablet) I have high speed internet and enjoy every new movie/song/game available to me for free, I have a nice flatscreen tv, I have a home gym, I have 14 pairs of nice shoes and I have nice clothes, I do not drive because where I live the public transit is very cheap and I live within walking distance of everything you need, I eat very cheaply rarely eat out mostly I cook and I try to keep my meals to $2 each but I still eat beef, chicken, vegetables, I take vitamin supplements to help with not being able to afford allot of fresh fruits and vegetables...

If I lived in a place that I was able to I would have a garden, rabbits and chickens...

Now not everyone could live like I do I suppose since I do have skills that most people do not which are computer related so I do have the ability to charge people cash and work for cash even with business's. So I guess if you do not have the right skill set you could not do this.

I do have to say that I take advantage of things where I can as stated above going to the free doctor, yes I wait longer but its free so who cares... I also take advantage of the credit system because I have bad credit so if someone is willing to give me credit and payments on something I make the first payment and keep the items and I make no further payments... After a fear years it gets charged off, when I was 18 I racked up over $7000 in credit card debt, 6 years later I have 2 credit cards from the 2 of the people that i never paid my bill to. If they are stupid enough to give me credit again then I will take advantage of that

I believe that I pay enough taxes when I buy things that I should not have to pay taxes on my income on top of that, if every state adopted the lottery, and made marijuana legal no one would have to pay taxes, here in FL we do not have taxes on food and it helps out, when I lived in Las Vegas you hardly pay taxes on anything and you don't even pay state taxes on income only federal because of the gambling revenue... I think that business's should be taxed not people.

Why are these in the list?

These are just common sense? Maybe add 'Must use common sense' to your list!

Perhaps that wasn't the best example but to be fair that's not what i meant, i didn't say i don't do these things

As a lucid dreamer i can highly recommend this as well. This is something most people should try i think as it is surely better than being unconscious all night every night. Even if you are happy with life lucid dreaming makes you live longer since normally you spend that time being unconscious.

No, you don't have to do anything. You can do anything you like. It's just that there are consequences for your actions. This is simple physics.

For every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction....

It has noting to do with waking up or being asleep. The laws of the universe do not change.

But like I said, you can go out and rob a bank if you want, right now. But there will be a consequence.

You can quit work, but there will be a consequence.

No one can force you to do any of the things you talked about, but there is a consequence for every choice in life, good bad or otherwise.

You can't escape this even in death. If you die, the consequence is that your body decomposes, gets eaten by other animals and bugs and people have this strange urge to put you in a box and cover you in dirt

It should still be a personal choice as long as you dont risk the life of anyone else.
Drinking and driving is not comparable at all, since then you put others at risk and not just yourself.
In a real free world you should be able to do whatever you want with your OWN body.

A grown adult should not be treated like a child and government should not act like our parents like they do now.
Here it has gone so far that they pretty much control every aspect of our life and now are even going to decide what we eat for dinner through taxation.

I believe he has reached the first step of freedom by realizing we are slaves.
As each of us experience this we do one less thing.
The Machine to exist needs every cog turning.

depends on which machine we are talking about here... if its your body then yes indeed most if not all "cogs" need to turn for you to function properly, however if it is society, i can say this if you are not a turning "cog" you will be crushed by the gears..

Welcome to the club. No matter how diverse we are, you will find many if not most who are here questioning had a similar epiphany. One day you realize just how little control you have.

Confirmed sometimes slaves will lose body parts but is still one less thing they are able to do for the machine.
We know slaves will sacrifice themselves for freedom. Just look at the Revolution, slaves freed
themselves in 1776 but many were crushed by the machine.
