I wouldn't say Lupe is really underrated, people are well aware of what he's capable of. He's quite mainstream albeit not as "busy" as other artists.

When did I ever attack you personally? Besides that, the reason I mentioned Jay z, 2pac, biggie, and raekwon was because you implied that no music about money, cars or women can be good. I merely pointed out that not only was that not what the geto boys rapped about (you can't honestly listen to the track six feet deep and tell me that's all it is) but that plenty of incredible rappers have rapped about things like that. I agree that it is a matter of opinion but the way you stated yours was pretty ignorant whether you meant it or not.

Exactly not as busy, but he doesnt get the recognition as one of the best, that goes to people like Lil Wayne.
Papoose is my fav mc and Sean Price.

I wouldn't say lupe is underrated. If anything he's overrated right now because lasers made him popular even though it was a terrible album. Anyway he's released two incredible albums so if he releases another but still isn't one of the biggest artists in the mainstream then I'll call him underrated.

Damn, I forgot about Busdriver, glad to see someone else showin' some respect for him.

Aceyalone, Nocando, Abstract Rude, Myka 9, Blueprint, Illogic, Aseop Rock, Slug, P.O.S and Gift of Gab are all very underrated MCs as well.

Not a big fan of rap, but I always liked Aesop Rock and he never seemed to get much attention.

Day Light / Night Light - One is a positive song, the other is negative. Almost like two sides to a coin, they complement each other. Worth listening to even if you aren't a fan of rap.

Aesop Rock, imo. Could just be my imagination deceiving me though; you can flip nothing into something. I.T. is okay. All of them have their schemes. None godlike, 24/7 rotation status, just decent distractions.

Tonedeff is certainly up there with the lyrics, down to earth and relevant

I dunno about 'most underrated rapper [b[ever?' That's a BIG ask.

There was a Brit rapper called Skinnyman who had the skills to make it. He had the flow, production and creativity to justify success. On the down-side, he was white, English and...well...skinny.

Roots Manuva is another Brit with his own flavour...saw the guy in Liverpool and the decks died. He freestyled the set and blended in words and phrases from the crowd. He didn't sweat it and rocked the place...

Someone mentioned Raekwon and the Wu. I've played them to death and search out the remixes. Check out Wu Tang Vs Beatles or Memory Man's Raekwon mixes (Cuban Revolution).

One of my favs, this whole album bangs: this song is a good reflection for whats currently going on

"Can't Get Right"
(feat. Bilal)

[Scarface]
These are the last days, settle in
Look at the turmoil our kids left the ghetto in
They bustin metal and, ain't got remorse for the innocent
It's just another nigga in the morgue
My momma's pregnant with a son she should abort
Cause she ain't knowin what I'm fin' to be facin is nothin short
of a, racially motivated killin cause them boys
see a nigga as only a third of a human, [?]
Every time I see a cracker with a badge, I'm in awe
Cause I'm knowin how he feel, and I'm just bein real
I don't hate and I don't preach it ain't no mother#in secret
We ain't first class citizens, and we ain't second either
Need to, get up and get out, and cut that bull# out
Nigga get yo' own you strugglin at this bitch house
The lack of makin money make a mother#er bend
If you'd rather me than you die in the end, again and again

[Chorus: Bilal]
I made it over to dry land
but still wound up sinkin in quicksand
I'm tryin Lord, I just can't get right
Paid the bills on Monday
Even went to church on Sunday
But I, but I, but I just can't get right

[Scarface]
I lay in bed lookin up at the ceiling
as the fan turns in a circle, thinkin 'bout my evil
Seein end on my TV, bombs in the skies
over Baghdad they fight but they don't know why
What they said about Hussein, was a God damn lie
Raised a war against a religion for oil, don't lie
I seen, kids from the hood livin like they gon' die
with the mindset of be broke or let's go get high
With the people livin so crazy how we gon' get by
Gasoline five dolars, how the # we gon' drive?
Can't afford to fill our prescriptions so we all gon' die
CVS is slangin dope on every block worldwide
Since, spies up and had the dope game on fine
Then it's only right for one nigga to go get mine huh
If they injured how they gon' survive?
If they stuck at the bottom how the # they gon' ride?

[Chorus]

[Scarface]
Ain't life a muh'#er, first you think you got it, then it
all falls apart in front your eyes, try to stop it, but it's
part of the plan that was written by the man
Got me down on my knees and my hands, prayin
Forgive me Lord, thank the Lord I'm alive
Cause I'm knowin deep down I coulda died
I shed so many tears lost so many peers
In the grave or the penitentiary facin 20 years
Pourin beers on the corner, cause Frankie told me [?] lonely
I was high livin blind to the fact that they sold us out
America the Beautiful, there's a funeral
on every day of the month, tryin to get our knees up
Huh, it's another chance under these circumstances
My people ain't advancin, but if we pray
Maybe we'll get to live our life in the sun
'stead of livin on the blocks dyin young, here I come

Hands down it'd have to be Charizma. He only dropped one album and he was killed before it even released. Either him or 9th Scientist.

Charizma has the nice late 80's early 90's isntrumentals.

9th Scientist has the deep lyrics.
