I'll respect your views, however, I'd like to add as a Ron Paul supporter that any opportunity to get the word out on his successes can still amount to something...even something as miniscule as a straw poll. While the media or other powers-that-be are constantly marginalizing him as fringe or whatever, these little speeches and polls can show others that he is someone serious to contend with.

The internet is still becoming more and more significant as a means to get the word out for favorite candidates. Threads like this are a great means to "get the word out" to a significant audience and maybe continue to get people to reconsider what this man is really about. They can see that even simple straw polls show that people are actually listening to his messages and agreeing from many different locations.

Paul is IMHO the only candidate who even WANTS change.
I don't believe any of the others have any intention of changing the status quo...
whether you vote for Romney or Perry or Cain, it just doesn't matter, you'll get the same results.

From an English (just one person's) perspective:

Lots of biblical references about a society that's based on liberty. Who's liberty is he fighting for? Christians or Americans? Sure, the vast majority of Americans are indeed Christian, however politics shouldn't be driven by religion.

If you agree that it should, who are you to dismiss other Countries from doing the same? Treating others how you'd like to be treated is great, yet another Country with a differing religion may call for the eradication of all those who reject their faith. Are they right to not only air that view but enact upon it?


Politics and religion need to be separated. Anything else is an infringement on liberty.

edit: btw I do like what Ronny boy stands for, he just needs to cut out the religious stuff.

I have been watching this guy for awhile now. Seems very honest and true. I'd be more likely to believe in this fella then any other politician, which says alot about my view on the subject.

However, I do have a bad feeling. Say he gets in office and starts acting on everything he promised. What card do you think is going to be played by the elite? JFK rings my warning bell. He'll get in, start making major changes that threaten the power elite. Can't have that, he's gotta go.

So they'll take him out and possibly use that in a spin on the war on terror or some sort of B.S. like that. Maybe the power elite will use this to their advantage in bringing full tyranny. Finalizing full domination of all of us.

Does anyone have the same sort of gut feeling?

The truly good always get knocked off. Thats how you know they were good people with good intentions and actions. If they make claims to being good and live unthreatened.... then chances are they lairs.

I've always been a Paul supporter however in this speech all I heard was Jesus this, Bible that, I believe in changing the way things are done however, as a non-christian It's hard for me to support a person who constantly refers to religion during their speeches. If I wanted to hear all that I'd go to church. Politics has failed this country and the world. One person cannot represent the beliefs and views of an entire nation. Time to move on to something different. Real change is abolishing the current system for a new updated one.

it analogies with what is going on.. Allot of the bible is history(although sometimes exaggerated) they were analogies and good ones.. i am not religious myself but just understand that he will not bring religion to his office..

Who? Barack Obama? Wasn't he suppose to withdraw all troops from Iraq by August 2011? I've noticed his broken promises, I've noticed his faliure on many things, I don't think he deserves a second term (neither do any of the other republican candidates), so, by all means, bring on the issues about him. Ron Paul on the other hand never evades a debate

I guess that's perception at the end of the day. To me, Ron Paul says alot of things to sound as far apart from the other candidates as possible, but his views are beyond reality. It's very easy for him to talk up his policies and views when he's not being challanged to walk the talk.

Awsome speech! I wish there were more people with Ron Paul's values. It makes such perfect sense. They need to start teaching a Ron Paul class in highschools across the U.S.!

I'm not even religious nor do I go to church but I believe in religious values and christianity's stuardship thereof.

Same here im from UK and cant understand how anyone would not solely vote Ron Paul if what he stands for is true. BUT as is the case for all politicians when they get the seat of power do they keep there promises Urrrm NO but hay why not give the man who says he going to implement what the people want. Give this man a chance in the seat, an see how it goes. Rather than vote for people who are saying what you don't want to happen or have got you in the state you are in now a chance.

For years now I have been active in political thought. It has been since about 1987 when I first heard Ron Paul. When he did not get more than 5% of the national vote as the Libertarian candidate I lost interest in politics realizing that there was just not enough intellectually honest political thinkers in this nation and it likely will not change in my lifetime.

Ron Paul making another go of it as a Republican POTUS candidate in 2008 got me excited again in political discussion again. I would vote for or contribute to anyone who was as honest and as consistently for liberty as Ron Paul has been.



He is as unchanging and honest as the tides.

Guardian, do you think the fact that in the 2007 poll Paul scored 1% at the previous Value Voters poll and this time Paul scored 37% reflects upward momentum for the Ron Paul campaign?

The Value Voters event is the only event where Paul brings up either the Bible or Jesus. The reason being the whole point of the conference is to see which one of the candidate supports Christian values. Are you going to tell me you would accept an invitation to speak about Christian values and then decide you won't bring up the Bible or Jesus? LOL. That was basically the whole point... so its a given that all the candidates are expected to bring up their religious beliefs at that particular event.

Does this poll really mean anything when he is in 5th place in the national polls behind Gingrich and Palin who is not even running? It seems to me the guy has a certain number of supporters and nobody else wants anything to do with him. When he was briefly in a far back 3rd place and Perry fell apart he should have moved into second. Instead the people jumped further down the line and chose Cain. This alone tells me Paul is what he has always been a guy with some interesting ideas, some nutty ideas and a small loyal base that will not grow. Maybe he should run as an independent because he is not winning the Republican nomination.
