In my view, that's a ridiculous assertion.

Moreover, even if true, I hardly think he deserves our sympathy. A REAL leader would level with the people...not continually lie to them.

I hear the US army will enlist you if you are a foriegner and seeking enlistment.
The reward is amerikan citizenship after you kill enough people for the man......
