You may have something there. The country where I come from, just had our own version of the rally peace protest (different version, same theme) couple of months earlier. And then recently, out of the blue, our government decided to abolish the kinda-like Patriot Act that the country had been using, for more than 50 years - only to be replaced with new Acts that shall be announced next year, which promised something like - 'justice for all' (shouldn't it go without saying?).

I smell something fishy.

I was just listening to local radio as the mayor of Portland was attempting to reason with Occupiers blocking downtown Portland streets...he says he has been patient long enough, but its time to give the streets back to the public...the Occupies say they aint moving...I don't think martial law will be the result...but I think there will be some bruises and scrapes as people are put in the back of cruisers and head to another, more enclosed location to camp at downtown. ???

I think it's good that people are speaking there mind but i feel this protest is misguided i think the whole point of this will be to institute socialism which i'm dead set against, if the people want to protest then protest the Federal Reserve or the crooked politician's in DC then we are getting some where.

Martial law doesn't come until after the food riots, which will probably follow either a horrendous drop in the buying power of the dollar, or another round of "natural disasters" which cut supply lines, destroy another harvest, or both.

Of course, there is always the chance that we could come to our senses and put together some sort of system that would care for the basic human rights of the people. I don't exactly see that solution barreling down the pike towards us right now, though.

You raise an interesting point and you may be right. I suspected that the riots in the UK recently could have been sparked off to justify giving the police more powers. It is well documented that many peaceful protests both in Europe and the United States have been infiltrated by so-called 'anarchists' who incite violence. If you are right in what you suggest it is a terrible shame because I do believe that the vast majority of people involved in the occupy movement worldwide are good genuine people.

well we have people arguing Martial Law doesnt exist until its declared by king Obama himself or something.

how dumbed down a statement is that, given how our Police state now operates

so in that regard, its been planned that way politically-correct so no one sees the indeed connection the OP suggests.

The more digging you do, the more you'll see my point that this movement is obvious a planned manipulation to get people to agree to world government.

If you don't think Martial law is coming, ask yourself, why the surprise (and sudden) announcement about troops coming home by Xmas?? Also, why are they speeding up the date to pull troops out of Afghanistan all of the sudden? I read an article that "both" Democrats and Republicans agree down the line on both these ideas of troop pull outs. Since when did dems and repubs ever agree on ANYTHING ESPECIALLY topics of war?? You have troops, in a rush now to get them home, fresh out of the killing fields and conditioned to kill people, and you really think martial law isn't coming? You think these poor military folks aren't conditioned to shoot and/or kill American citizens now? You think the war was always about "just" oil?

Think about it...
