The Pirate Bay Goes Down Following Legal Pressure

www.newworldorderreport.com]Full Story

The Pirate Bay is suffering some temporary downtime as their bandwidth provider has stopped passing through traffic. A week ago, Hollywood got an injunction to effectively shut down the Pirate Bay by threatening its provider with huge fines. The Pirate Bay team is currently working on a solution.

wow quite a surprise in some ways...

Although this story isnt about promoting internet piracy, i do think it's a surprise. The site itself isn't all about illegal media and can be used for legal file sharing as well.

Why arent the uploaders of the original content being held accountable or tracked down, they upload alot of media, surely they can be tracked... not that i want that either.

So now instead of holding the uploader or the website accountable, the companies are trying to hold the ISP provider accountable.... really?

I will say the site has been intermittenly on and off but is certainly not working like it should...for legal downloads that is

I'm Browsing TPB right now. about an hour ago the page wouldn't load, but now it seems to working, just very very slowly. God I hope they don't get hosed. Seems like the only site that isn't brimming with trojans and spam. Is it possible there is a huge list of IP addresses being compiled somewhere of all the visitors to the site? Is simply getting the torrent file from TBP actually illegal?

Not working here. Seems like pirate bay has always been there for me, as sure as the sun rising and setting. I think they will find a way around like they always do.

Seems like there would be a way to make searching and downloading of torrents p2p also so people wouldn't be relying on servers. Maybe thats not possible?

I've always thought it wasnt illegal to actually download it once it's online, the only person that can be held accountable is the provider or person that uploaded the file originally... well i hope thats true, it does make sense though.

Although the problem starts with torrents because while you are downloading you are also seeding and redistributing at the same time... so i guess it's a no win situation.

Remember that guy that got caught uploading the the new version of mario kart for wii(at the time), he was only 20 and Nintendo sued him and won for ober $2 million... poor guy talk about a life debt!

Although my thought was, how could they prove all the people that downloaded the file would have actually purchased it in the first place. The only got it because it was free, so then how can Nintendo prove they lost money..

"The world's most resilient BitTorrent site"

Trying to shut down TPB is like trying to shut down Anonymous(one in the same?)

Simply won't happen.

do movies not have subliminal messages? do they not promote immorality, violence, and outright hate for the christian faith? xenophobia?

is this right? no.but is done for profit . This is the problem with USA,the fascists and socialists promote all wrong things and make unjust rules ,they crush those who circumvent the unjust rules by use of lobbying unjust rules .

fighting tyranny is the duty of a patriot.

as for downloading movies free do it .I support you 100%

My understanding is that thepiratebay.org is about file sharing legally one user to another, its also in a country that has no bi-laws prohibiting people from sharing to one another...

To tell you the truth, they should be given admiration for standing up to the corp hounds... they even post up letters from attorneys trying to sue.

In a world run by people that copywrite everything from saying "your fired" with having to pay Donald Trump Royalties to the a-holes that own the rights to the color blue. People forget that the people that share are such a small minority that in reality its no different than you lend your friend a dvd or cd.

Anyways just my thoughts
