Communism usually works very good,
as long as it is a small group, friends, family, loved ones.
In this scenario, everyone is usually motivated to work hard so that all have some. And miscreants are right in plain view of said group.
That being said, once the commune gets so large that people aren't accountable, some start slacking, cause, well, it's not their friends.
What's worse is when the head commie in charge decides he is fit to be the supreme leader.
“All power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light."
Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another, but let him work diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his
own shall be safe from violence when built.
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
Few men have virtue to withstand the highest bidder.
Coersion, after all, merely captures man. Freedom captivates him.
A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong
enough to take everything you have. -Thomas Jefferson
