Why Should Aliens Be Humanoid In Appearance?

those aren't aliens, they are time travellers

We don't create them in that image. There are reasons for humanoid beings in this universe and even Beyond it.
This is the design we will have in progressed form too.

For one thing it works like this: human form in levels of corporate like earth's universe is actually needed to contruct technology. Human forms are duplicated throughout the galaxy/universe. Countless planets that look just like us, or various races here. Including the AI grey bots. Robots that can be worn as suits.

There are other models too. Reptile could be the Ford truck.

This is a lower level of progression and things only get better, more love, happiness, more flavors of ice cream and coffee, more colors and senses, more connection and universal understanding, better love, more wonderful physical expressions of love, everything gets better, but its selflessnes versus selfishness, personal happiness and helping the happiness of others. More beauty as well. With love and progressed awareness, caring, compassion, feelings. This is job here, growing up and removing the diapers.

Maybe because there are so many claiming to have alien souls or past life alien experiences. It would be an insult to their psyche to look "alien" other than in a humanoid form. Can you image one of these claimants in a hideous spider body or worse a rock that lays about on a plain and thinks all day and night because its immobile but super intelligent in a boring way?

Not Hollywood enough to impressed the masses with. Nah, just like a lot of stories. it needs pizazz and to be able to communicate its wisdom magically, be agile, and super intelligent with all of the universal answers. Mix a little mystery and intrigue to capture the audience and woolah you have a best seller or a cult following. Just once I'd like to read something universal that can be replicated here on Earth from one of these humanoids that have the "all seeing eye" of the cosmos or their benevolent nature that doesn't revert back to the golden rule.

I think that many of them could be very advanced robotic like creatures, especially designed for space travel and executing all kind of tasks for their "masters".
Like the creatures the late Col. Philip Corso for instance described here.
