No its proportionate. It's called a low boy trailer, they ship large boats and yachts on those tilting trailers all the time, because it takes away some of the width, instead adding to the heighth, and allows it to be transported easier.

Satellite dish wouldn't need a police escort, it would only need a company transport team that are used for wide and oversized loads.

I've seen police escorting wide loads (such as construction equipment) before. It isn't always done by private escorts.

Tilting a wide load reduces it's width -- perhaps making it a "more legal" width to transport -- or at very the least an easier/less dangerous width to transport.

I would not give up your day job for a career on the stage as a stand up.
Nor would I. The only real reason that was funny is as an inside joke, and I'm keeping that one.

It's not a matter of the Satellite needs it, it's a matter of the shape needs it.

I've seen both at the same time, in trips through upper Mississippi.

Why does it need a police escort then?

I don't think it's a drill bit, as Gando asserts, but it's still a wide load. The tilt just makes it less wide.

I suppose it could be a part of a tunneling machine or something like that (maybe that's what Gando is asserting).

Yeah but they bring wide loads on the highway all the time without police. Maybe it was an expensive piece of equipment and they asked the cops to help them make sure people werent gonna pass dangerously or drive too close or something. I watched that video on the journal website and I saw one big circular looking thing, but I couldn't definitively say that was the thing that was on the back of that truck.

I looked at the picture he provided, I suppose it could've been a massive drill bit, but we really don't know either way until the tarp is revealed, now do we? We are all just speculating based on probabilities. Nobody can say they know with 100% certainty that it was a drillbit, however likely it may seem. And those pics show a cylindrical drill that is roughly a similar size to the thing on the truck, but the pics dont show the bit itself.

Wide loads often do have escorts of some sort -- sometimes private escorts and sometimes police.

I'm not sure if there are certain laws regarding wide loads in Nevada, but perhaps those laws differ based on the road being traversed or the actual width of the load...

but the bottom line is that escorts are not uncommon for wide loads. I see them often.

That is a low-boy trailer with it's back axle down it is not going 70 mph. That load is heavy there are 26 tires on 7 axles on the ground that is 2 axle more than a normal Semi.

good observation my man.dont you think that would rule out a sat dish?
