Speaking of socialist healthcare, you should have seen the latest GOP debate. All of those presidential candidates, while with their criticisms of welfare, dared not mention any word of abolishing medicare during their administrations. No.

They won't touch medicare... not with all the freemarket libertarian sparkles the world has to offer... nope... I think they're all smart enough to recognize that there are some things you can't fully privatize. The talk about gradually privatizing it so that the seniors can be the last ones covered... right.... which essentially means that none of them are all that keen about walking the talk.

Every single human being gets sick, it is totally unreasonable to base life and suffering
on this system which charges a years worth of wages for several days in the hospital.

I agree that the current system has many problems. One systemic problem I pointed out is that it is run for profit, and not to promote health. Another problem with medicare is that it is highly inefficient. Our country is spending billions of dollars a year on healthcare for seniors, who quite frankly, are going to die anyway.

We can come up with a laundry list of problems.

You guys want to attack the MSM for bringing light to this story?

Paul favors bull# like charity or whatever to help people with unpayable bills, knowing damn well that won't do a thing to help the problem of healthcare in this country. He and his band of rabid followers are not only delusional, but selfish and heartless bastards who care nothing about their fellow countrymen.

Ron Paul is full of crap. If you want to say "every man for themselves", then come up with ideas to help lower medical and insurance costs in this country so that people won't have to depend on public aid for outrageous medical bills.

I'm tired of reading crap on here where people worship this man as if he's christ.

When those people cheered during the debate when they were talking about letting AMERICANS DIE, I've heard all I've needed to hear from Ron Paul and his sick, psychotic supporters.

If we had a stable currency helping out people wouldn't be much of a problem. Our wealth though has been slowly robbed from us, forcing us to become dependent of the government for assistance. We need to either reverse that trend or just make medicine not for profit.

I recently had an injury that I had to have fixed. The insurance company denied my claim, and then I had to apply for medicaid. Medicaid paid for the $12,000 surgery. Medicaid paid $3,000 and the rest was written off. After all that the insurance company offered a settlement of the claim. So insurance companies use the government to get decreased surgery costs and then settle the remainder afterwards. I get a little money, they get decreased medical costs, and then the tax payer gets the shaft.

Medical bills account for 62% of all bankruptcies in America.

At least we have the 'freedom' to die and leave our medical costs to our survivors.

People act as if hospitals don't have to pay for stuff like gauze pads and sterilized needles. Who makes all that stuff? Why corporations do. The socialists and commies hate corporations with a vengeance but somehow now they are expected to donate all that stuff they make to unlimited hospitals and clinics for free...what about all those people the corporations who make the guazepads and syringes hire to do all that stuff? Do any of you ever think through this stuff?
Oh yah and then there's the electric bill. My dad owned a foundry and one months bill would bowl a few of you over. Hospitals have all those rooms fitted out with all kinds of gadgets and monitors, and then there's the electricity needed to run x-ray machines, lab tests, computers, etc. And remember BO said he was going to bankrupt the coal industry causing electric rates to necessarily skyrocket. Member that guys???
But then what's that you say about seniors who are going to die anyway? You sound exactly like Obama talking about how his grandma shoouldn't have that hip replaced because she is too old, but generous soul that he is, he was going to pay for it out of his pocket.
No Death Panels in the healthcare bill? Then why talk about people who are going to die anyway? The way the govt intends to cut costs is by rationing healthcare.
It is frankly quite disgusting how people try to put the guilt trip on those who oppose this monstrosity of a plan, while at the same time advocating cutting costs by letting seniors die. This is not the Hippocratic oath, it's hypocrisy!

I would say that greed drives up the cost more than government. There is a huge conflict of interest between capitalism and a healthy society.

No problem at all. Send the bill to Ron Paul's church.

Consumer choice.
Now with health care the choice faced is often buy the product or die.
That's the simple reason why free market doesn't work with health care.
That's why the US spends the highest % of it's GDP on healthcare.

Paulers already have ideas for the healthcare crises in this country. Eliminate regulations, taxes, and put out all the stops for medical corporations and contractors. Their assumption is that by doing this, healthcare costs will magically go down. They completely ignore reality behind this idea, especially considering that the core goals of private business is to maximize profit, not bring down prices just because the costs to them have gone down. This is only part of an example of how misguided their views are over the subject.
