Portable Reverse Osmosis Water Filter - Questions?

Just wondering what you all think about adding this to a SHTF scenario? Is it necessary or unnecessary...

This is a 4-stage filter unit with an in line sediment + in line gac pre-filter + 1x 50gpd reverse osmosis membrane + in line nano silver post ro membrane filter. Supplied with 5 litre pump tank + more portable 2 litre pump tank.

Is boiling water just as affective?
Would you buy any of the optional extra's?
Anyone with experience with these things?

don't need the extras listed but a test kit and chlorine may go well with this set esp if you are making water to take with the chlorine residual keeps bacteria from growing in the water. That kit is more than most water plants do to the water.

Thats a pretty cool setup although looks a bit cumbersome to be hauling around. I have a regular r/o under my sink and the quality of the water is amazing. And well worth the cost in my mind. Boiling water wouldn't remove the contaminates like the ro membrane does.

Combersome , Yes! Planning on an economic collapse rather than 2012, so have the means to lug it around to the bug out location...

Rather slow thread for ATS standards - Thought there would be a few more opinions to throw at this one...

Anyone heard of the dangers of some of the nutrients this would take out of the water as well? As apposed to what is present in normal clean drinking water.
