this is a great story. I am from Kodiak Alaska and I used to spend every summer commercially fishing (set netting) in Uganik bay and I was able to see
this actually happen a few times. The deer swim across the large channels in search of food supply.
I remember one time a deer landed on the beach in front of my cabin. its right hind leg was mangled..not sure by what (salmon shark would be a
possibility..those things were all over the place..) Im sure a nice grizzly made a meal out of it in no time!
I am waving my hand vigorously . I have the warm fuzzies. As an animal lover, I think animals have much more thought processes and self-awareness than
we give them credit for. I think humans just evolved sooner than most....or NOT depending on your point of view. I love stories like this.
