I was absolutely astonished when I discovered that the country in which you have the lowest age of consent (that is, age at which people of different sexualities can legally have sex) is not an African or Asiatic or some under-developped country.

The age of consent in Arabia is 9 (probably modeled after the age of the Prophet's wife, whose name I forget).

This same link points out some interesting things.

I could not imagine that in such a familiar an European country as Germany, the age of consent for a boy is 14, when for a girl, it's 16.

Like in ... India, or Israel, or Latvia ...

Where's gender equality ???

Actually, in Saudi Arabia and other Muslim nations a man can marry a girl as young as one-year-old. The man can then have sex with her once she reaches puberty, which they define as having her first period. Oftentimes, this is around the age of eight-years-old.

ill go look for the link but i rember dellaware being 13 up until the late 90s not sure on current laws from what ive heard its 16 in mt but im not planing on looking into tthat one personaly but i guess they varry from state to state and country to country
