COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) — Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said a key lesson of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks is that the greatest threats to the U.S. can come from "failed states" that cannot control their territory.

Rice said in a speech in Columbus on Monday that the U.S. cannot afford to leave Afghanistan an "ungoverned territory" after invading it.

Oh,yes Condi tells us something we don't already know.But,she leaves out a key point that many American foreign policy wonks leave out:The US government and it's allies the IMF and transnational companies create these failed states so that the military-industrial complex can pillage these places resources.Only now the US-UK cabal has overreached.

Of course it is a failed state, because we exploit it. A third grader could understand that, but like everyone else, the third grader is lied to by the government as well. She is just spewing the same old junk that everyone in power has been spewing lately. This is one more reason why we need to make sure Ron Paul gets elected. If he cannot better our foreign policy in a term, I have lost all hope for our country.

Actually they were friends when the Soviets were experiencing their version of a "Vietnam" quagmire in Afghanistan .... then they were enemies, now they are "enemies of enemies"... which is to say... they are whatever their employers want to call them in the press at the moment....sort of like the politicians who "invented" this scam ....

How can that be, Ms. Rice, when The Donald, Rumsfeld, had this to say about the country after we went to war there: "a successful model for what could happen to Iraq if individuals were liberated, allowed to vote freely and to work". (8-2002) I want my money back!

I was just talking the other day to a young man who has served multi-deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq. You and your colleagues were so wrong on many things, Ms. Rice, in order to convince Americans to back your plans. Remember how the road to Jerusalem was to run through Baghdad? That would be a laugh now, if it weren't so tragic.

Anyway, this soldier was telling me how he and his fellow soldiers came upon a group of children starting to play with an ied the kids had found. Before the soldiers could get to the children, the device exploded. Before the soldiers could tend to their own wounds, they went around picking up body parts, pieces of the children that were flung all over.

You, Ms. Rice, like Mr. Cheney, will keep talking nonsense publicly in order that you might sleep better at night, and earn some $ while doing it. The soldiers you helped send to war after 9-11 will have neither this catharsis nor enrichment. And the children are dead.

I say that the greatest threats to the U.S. come from people like you who fail to state the truth, in a nation that cannot control their greed.
