My first thread. Bear with me.

"A photo of what appears to be a police officer having sex with a woman on the hood of a car has caused an uproar in New Mexico."

www.huffingtonpost.com...

Not much is said about this. The photo shows, what looks to be an officer, having sex with a woman on the hood of a car. Probably her car. This is a figure of authority who is supposed to be doing his job, and instead he's banging some chick on the job! The article also says this isn't the first time something like this has happened.

From the article: "New Mexico State Police have not said whether the man pictured on the hood of the car will face any disciplinary measures, according to the Journal."

I hope he gets fired.

ETA: Hmmm I thought the blue box was going to show up when I quote the article. How do I do that?

I'm thinking Rabbit from Super Troopers going at with the German guy's wife.

If true it's not good,I don't care about the sexual exploits of anyone police officers included. However I believe that could definitely lead to a public indecency charge or something like that. It's a shame, dude could lose his job and more, for an act of lust, but he sure wouldn't be the first guy to make a poor decision using the wrong head.

Because if it was me or you,and he was on duty,he would have to arrest you for public lewdness. He should be arrested. If hes on the clock, fired. I pay for his wages.

I'd much rather have the police doing that, then harassing people as they usually do. Sure, sometimes they stop real bad guys, most of the time not. It's the detectives who do that...

its discusting, i hate3 cops theyve taken all me and my wives money from this paycheck for a ridiculous ticket for slightly speeding in a construction zone were nobody was working and the funny thing is we ran in to him at circle k later and i have leukemia reoccuring in my nerve in my arm since my bone marrow transplant so they did a biopsy to confirm this and i had a bandage wrapped around my arm and he asked what was wrong with my arm and i told him and he talked to me for like 40 min about how his dog has leukemia and how sad it is and stuff and may i add he was saying stuff like he was going to have to shoot me if i made any sudden movements when he pulled my wife ov3r e3earlier and it was just so annoying.

But who knows if that woman consent to have sex with him or he abused his power on her to get her to have sex?

cops could make people do many things if they caught doing something and only way out of going to jail is to do sexually favors so she wouldn't go through the process.

Obviously, that woman LOVES a man in uniform. Bow-chicka-wow-wow.

Honestly, I don't care. But if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. He took a risk for some exciting sex, and now it's time to pay the fiddler.

He should have been just a bit more cautious and made sure there weren't any surveillance cameras around.

NM officer having sex on car hood won't be charged

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — He's in uniform and apparently on duty. But New Mexico State Police said the officer caught on camera having sex with a woman on the hood of a car did not commit a crime.

Security camera photographs of the encounter at the remote county-owned Canyon Ranch near Santa Fe, N.M., surfaced several weeks ago. The images were initially sent to state police by the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department and an internal investigation was started.

State police spokesman Tim Johnson said the investigation has been completed and the case is currently in the disciplinary process. He said investigators don't believe any criminal acts occurred but that the officer will be held accountable for his actions.

"The New Mexico State Police is very embarrassed by this incident and will work tirelessly to restore our good name and earn the trust of the citizens back," he said in a statement sent Thursday to The Associated Press.

"This officer made a horrible personal decision that will obviously reflect poorly on the whole organization."

Johnson declined to release the name of the officer, but KQRE-TV reported (http://(link tracking not allowed)/qOPJ6t ) he is an eight-year veteran of the department who's currently on administrative leave. The Albuquerque television station also reported he was state police officer of the year in the Santa Fe district in 2010.

Johnson declined to provide any details about the officer, including his past accolades or whether he is married.

The department has also refused to release the identity of the woman in the video and details about her relationship with the officer.

While the case is a black eye for the department, Johnson said he wanted the public to remember that hundreds of state police officers go to work "every single day and make sound decisions to protect and serve their communities."

Officer who had sex on car fired by NM police

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — A New Mexico state police officer has been fired after security cameras caught him having sex with a woman on the hood of a car.

Officer Bert Lopez's dismissal from the New Mexico state police was confirmed by The Santa Fe New Mexican (http://(link tracking not allowed)/oIqKyd ) on Saturday. The newspaper said Lopez has 30 days to appeal the firing.

The surveillance photos were taken from a motion-triggered security camera positioned at the front gate of the county-owned La Bajada Ranch south of Santa Fe. The encounter was at the remote Canyon Ranch.

Two photos showing a uniformed officer having sex on the hood were forwarded to Santa Fe Sheriff Robert Garcia, who identified the officer as being with New Mexico State Police. He forwarded the images to State Police Chief Robert Shilling.

An internal investigation was immediately launched, and Lopez, an eight-year veteran, was put on paid administrative leave for about three weeks.

Police officials would not comment on whether the dismissal was an indication whether the officer was on duty at the time of the incident.

The dismissal came days after investigators said the officer didn't commit a crime. Officials were assured the sexual encounter was not in exchange for anything related to his position as a law enforcement officer.

"It is an embarrassing situation for the department, but we have to remember the rights of the employee afford him due process we must follow so we won't be commenting further," said spokesman Sgt. Tim Johnson.

The department refused to release the identity of the woman or details about her relationship with the officer. It was unclear when the photos were taken, but Garcia said he believed it was either late July or early August.

If Lopez contests his firing, the appeal goes to a special commission within the New Mexico state police department and then state District Court, according to the New Mexican.

Lopez was named a 2009 state police office of the year and was awarded a "Challenge Coin" in July, an honor given to officers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

People that are bold enough should go ahead and start having sex on the hoods of their cars in broad daylight, since it isn't a crime.
Fail.
