The guy has no idea what he's talking about.
1) The ecliptic is not the plane of the solar system.
2) Elenin has been viewable from the northern hemisphere since it was discovered. In fact, the telescope that Leonid Elenin used to discover it is in
the northern hemisphere (New Mexico).
3) Elenin was never calculated to cross the ecliptic (ascending node) on September 11. Here is a post on another site, from February, with images
showing that the ascending node was shown to occur on the 13-14th of September at that time.
