Interesting, they are saying that it is the result of a ICBM releasing left over rocket fuel, though it looks really huge, and is quite far from California where the ICBM was launched. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

I did a quick search and found nothing, though China has been a hot bed for weird clouds, and UFO reports as of recent times. I wonder if it is something the Chinese military is working on.

Where is the referrence to the ICBM. Source? I mean who launched it, was it a test, inert etc.,
Was a missle seen or is that just speculation that got lost in translation?

I saw a report on this on the local news in Toronto. I was more surprised that they would air a story like this than the fact that it occurred.

As for what caused it, I have no idea. All sorts of weird things have happened around the world this year.
