You do know that the rest of Congress has to pass whatever they propose so the members with alot of people relying on these programs will vote no.

What's the problem?

Really? Then...doesn't that kind of make the whole thing pointless?

If ultimately it is up to the regular congress anyway?

Exactly. The only difference now is that the majority of Congress will not be held responsible for nothing getting done so the republicans and democrats will still be able to fight only now they will hold the SuperCongress responsible for not giving something they can vote on.

Eventually the Supercongress will produce a bill that's already agreed to by both sides or they will simply disband the Supercongress after the election but it's basically a way for Congress to avoid reprisal for not being able to come to an agreement on anything.

The democrats and republicans are probably hoping they pick up enough of a majority in the next election to get what each side wants done since currently they are at a standstill and their approval is dropping drastically putting all their jobs in jeopardy.

There's no bigger scam than the American War Machine.

Oh, what their little foot soldiers wouldn't do to defend their actions.

If you ever become unemployed, desolate and homeless, then you'll understand why people use social services to help them get back on their feet.
