its probably police just getting annoyed with all the idiots now days, you'd have to have the temper of a saint to not let it boil over after some time, the amount of crap they have to put up with, maybe they need regular releases of stress like routinely every week/month have to go do some sort of stress releasing thing. i couldnt be a cop because i cant deal with stupid people.

Exactly, poverty in a world that has abundance, will breed hate and contempt, which will inevitably lead to criminal behaviors like stealing, killing, etc. Granted in a "perferct world" you'll still have psychopaths that do crazy things, but it would cut down on many senseless crimes.
