Yes, I can see that about the child porn and even the AWOL bit... but the blowing people up bit is a bit much for him as I remember him. Although him asking about smokeless gunpowder at the checkout seems about right.

The consensus among the folks here who knew him is that the child porn thing and the AWOL thing... totally plausible. The making bombs with plans of blowing up people... doesn't seem likely.

Anyway.. still getting reactions from the people here who knew him... will post anything new as I see it.

This guy (Nasser) strikes me as being somewhat incompetent - thankfully.

Put yourself in the mind of somebody who has plans of murdering people en mass....

1. When researching products to make weapons do you:

A) Ask some RANDOM gun store owner in TEXAS.
B) Google it.
C) Ask the guys who radicalized you
D) None of the above

2. When preparing to carry out your plans do you:

A) FIRST get a hotel room and THEN ready your arsenal.
B) Ask for help from a hotel concierge in carrying your ammo upstairs
C) Prepare it BEFORE leaving.

Either he's a complete dumb ass or this is the sketchiest story I've heard in my entire life. Anybody with an OUNCE of since knows that one thing you don't ask ANYBODY is "hey, how do you make a bomb?"

So who was Jason Adbo?

Thanks to rogerstigers, providing some thought provoking insight into his early years, I decided to poke around further into what might have made him tick.

It seems, now, that he had been getting quite a bit of attention in the last couple years. Perhaps it went to his head, and getting shut off from all that glory made him crave for even more once that dried up. Maybe , in his mind, that was just un-acceptable.

He's been interviewed by CNN and Aljazeera, been the poster boy for left wing anti-war groups, and had been receiving plenty of both praise, and flac, from those around him for his choices.

When the positive encouragement stopped, the belittlement probably did not, and life no longer offered the stardom he thought he deserved. Desperate for attention, he had to make them look.

Of course, any number of reasons could be to blame.

It could be , plain and simple, that he was just brainwashed into thinking it was perfectly fine to be a pedophile and kill "infidels" by Islamic extremists he chummed around with while he was in Dubai. Either way, in my opinion, he deserves what's coming to him.

Thankfully he wasn't able to follow through with his plans.

Also, it appears there have been a couple more arrests in connection, and those names, along with Facebook screen-shots of his "friends" have surfaced prior to his page being taken down. It seems people are scrambling to disassociate themselves from him, including his own lawyer.

Here are some of the links I was able to dig up, and the 2009 CNN interview on youtube.

Fort Hood Suspect Had Left-Wing Fan Base

The 21-year-old soldier arrested today for allegedly plotting to attack Fort Hood appears to be the same “conscientious objector” who was viewed as a peacemaker by anti-war activists last year, after he refused to serve in Afghanistan or Iraq because he claimed it violated his Muslim faith. When Pfc. Naser Abdo applied for CO status last year, the utterly discredited Iraq Veterans Against the War organization posted a message in support of him on its website, and asked readers to donate to his legal defense fund. And Kimber Heinz, a writer for the far-left website Truthout, unluckily chose to profile Abdo in a 2010 article entitled, “One Year After Fort Hood: The Missing Story of Muslim Peacemaking.”

One Year After Fort Hood: The Missing Story of Muslim Peacemaking

Private First Class Naser Abdo, a 20-year-old Muslim servicemember currently serving in the U.S. Army and seeking Conscientious Objector (C.O.) status on the grounds of Islam, is a Muslim peacemaker. He states, “As I studied Islam and Islam’s commitment to peace, I developed an entirely new perspective on war and conscience… That’s when I realized my conscience would not allow me to deploy.” Pfc. Abdo’s C.O. case still awaits an Army recommendation of discharge from the military based on moral, ethical, and religious objection to all wars. Abdo is facing possible deployment to Afghanistan in spite of his C.O. claim, though Army commanders decided to delay his deployment after he went public with his case. Speaking out as a Muslim, Abdo is against war and has been working with nonviolent antiwar organizations including the War Resisters League and Quaker House in Fayetteville, NC on building public support for his objection to war on the grounds of Islam. Several Muslim-American organizations in the U.S., such as the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation, have been key supporters of Pfc. Abdo's claim for Conscientious Objector status based on the principles of Islam. In a statement released by this organization in support of Pfc. Abdo, long-time Muslim peacemaker and antimilitarist Ibrahim Ramey states, "We believe that his position is not a product of personal cowardice or disloyalty to his nation, but rather, a coherent expression of his faith and his personal belief in the tenets and laws of the religion of Islam."

Anyone have any insight as to why CNN doesn't have this plastered all over their front page? Normally they'd be all over it. My best guess is that it can't be connected to Sarah Palin
or a right wing Christian Tea Party terrorist militia. Not trying to scare the hell out of you just isn't their style.

Maybe they just don't want you coming across the old video in the last post where they were all supportive and understanding.

They do have a story posted, but it's buried in the Blogs, and one in the crime section. You'd never know it happened just by going to CNN's home page.

It's always the little things that are, or aren't, that sometimes offer clues to an otherwise un-noticed agenda.

Not taking sides, just pointing out the obvious stereotypes.

Edit to add:

Rather an awkward silence here considering all the uproar about the Bush's Patriot Act, and Obama's continuation of.... all in the name of protecting us from this kind of extremism festering at home.

Or does it just not matter since the fuse was never lit, so to speak...
