What If God Was One of Us

I've been listening to Joan Osborne's song "One of Us" and wondering how you all would answer the questions raised in the song.

I'm mobile, so I can't link to the vid.

How would you answer the questions posed in the song:

1. If God had a name, would you "call it to his face" if you were faced with him?

2. If you could ask God one question, what would you ask him?

3. If you could see God, do you want to see him?

4. Do you think God may be "one of us"?

5. If you found out God is one of us, how would you react to that?

Why not? It's not exactly blasphemous.

I'd simply ask "why?"

If i could see a unicorn, i would WANT to see one. The creator of everything that is? Probably want to see that more than a unicorn.

No

....and if that was the case i'd ask "why homo sapiens?" "Why not monkeys, worms, cockroaches or E.T life on earth planets?"

I'd ask why he took the form of a variety of life existing on a planet in the suberbs of one gallaxy. I'd ask how it was possible, as the universe existed a long time before homo-sapiens came into existence.

5. If you found out God is one of us, how would you react to that?

I'd ask questions: Are you immortal? How does a human create everything that is before the human race came into existence? etc. etc. etc.

I've read that we're not supposed to speak God's name, but I don't know why that is.

2. Can I join you in being omnipotent? (I'll take the dirty jobs first, bringer of death, Gods wrath etc..)

2. Lets talk about giving me some super powers....I have a proposition for you....
3. Not particularly....unless that 'giving me super powers' thing would pan out....
4. I'd say God already is us....He is everywhere and everything. we're little sparks from his flame...one in the same but individualized to experience reality in different ways. But that's just my own philosophical belief.

I'm sure if God were one of us He would be as pissed off as the rest of us. Just my 2 cents.

I bet he is the bearded bum outside the mall near where I live. The guy just bobs his head up and down for endless weeks and it seems like he never moves.

Maybe that is God's test; to see how people treat him, and that will determine the fate of our world.

2. I have read you your rights. Do you understand them?

3. We are actively seeking the suspect as we speak.

Anyway, 'If'' the fundamental question is does God exist? well, he has to since we do! We are his Raison d'etre, as much as he is our Raison d'être.
