So this video was posted on Youtube on July 19, 2011. The object appears to be quite bright and then the camera operator zooms in on it. The video turns out to be a little pixelly due to zooming in on it real close. The object has different colour to it as the camera zooms in on it.

It also looks more square/diamond-shaped than round shaped the closer the zoom. There is also a defining center line crossing the object. Moreover, the object is very slowly moving down and away direction from the camera. Not sure if that is just the camera not stable as it presumably rests on a stand.

Can anyone help explain this?

Note: The camera operator has yet to respond where he shot the footage from.

Location, camera used, and program used to zoom in on the object are important. Agreed.

The video captured appears to be similar to the one that has been posted in 2010 over Cucuta, Columbia:

It also looks more square/diamond-shaped than round shaped the closer the zoom. There is also a defining center line crossing the object.

The apparent diamond shape is caused by the camera , this could be any one of the natural usual suspects that inhabit the night sky , Star ,Planet or Moon .
If you had the location and date you could check it out with stellarium , which is probably why that info has been withheld .

The diamond shape is not a true indication of the objects "shape".

It is obviously a poor quality camera with the stunted zoom, much like you get on a mobile phone.

I have zoomed into the moon before using my phone camera and the moon appears distorted because of it's brightness and because of the camera quality.

My guess is this is what you are seeing. That is not the light's true shape

I would say they are created by some sort of focusing, thats why they kept the plants in the picture maybe.

A few youtube videos in some threads were removed by the Youtube poster while others were removed due to copyright infringement. So, that said, hopefully someone will find a lead on this. Otherwise, the case remains open for debunking or legitimacy.
