What's going on is the celestial object approaching us (could be Elenin, or could be the other celestial mass behind it) is heavy with gravitational pull. It's amazing to me that people still dispute that something approaching is causing events we have not witnessed in our life time! I recall a time prior to the Indian tsunami for years and years and years, we never heard of a tsunami, let alone an earthquake over 8.0, let alone the amount of volcanoes going off right now!
