Mullholand Drive knocked me out. It was one of those movies that didn cop to cheap thrills. Throughout, the plot was just this side of confusing but the weave of the scenes and the questions raised just kept adding more and more demand for answers. Now the whole movie might have fallen flat for me but for the ending. The ending took all the guestions an twists and turns and welded them together for a perfect ending.

i have never seen it, but that was a glowing review worthy of any renowned publication, and has honestly inspired me to have a peek. good endings are hard to come by....

Great movie. You could watch it 10 times and not figure it out. Watch it a few times and
come to your own conclusions. Then look up interpretations and watch it again. Inside
information movie with layers upon layers.
My own view...Watch it with MK-ULTRA in mind.

Red Planet
Star Trek (the new one)
2001: A Space Odessey
2010: The Year We Make Contact
Inception
Moon
Pitch Black
Chronicles of Riddick

Or if you feel like a TV series you could try...
Battlestar Galactica (new one)
Stargate SG1/Atlantis/Universe
Red Dwarf (comedy)
V (new series)

That's just a few I can think of off the top of my head. I am a bit of a scfi-fi fan if you can't tell lol. If none of that interests you I can suggest more.

Can you download movies for free?

Only if you pay for them

Or use certain torrent sites that I shall not mention here but may or may not kind of rhyme with "hire-it hay" (no pun intended
)

If it hasn't been mentioned yet...Event Horizon.

Excellent example of sci-fi meets horror, and a nice mind-bender of a movie. Sam Neil is the lead...of course...probably one of the finest actors in these kinds of films.

Trees

Brazil. What can one say. This movie should be a staple of all here at ATS. Fanciful visions and nightmares. Whatta combo. The satirical slant on modern society and the coming of big brother and the bureaucratic police state is supurb.

The little old lady having corrective plastic surgery for the third or fourth time" My complications had complication" as she mindlessly thinks that she will be young and pretty again says it all. Well not really, it only says a small fraction of the messages tossed out by this masterful satire.

This movie is like what, 25 years old? Back then the idea of the police coming into your home with a fully loaded swat team to arrest you for a bad check was over the top. Now though it is looking more an more as if Terry Gilliam really had his eye on the future.
