What made Blair Witch for me, was that I saw a fake documentary on SciFi prior to seeing the movie. Because I saw it opening day, it wasn't yet
really "outed" as being (SPOILER ALERT)....
Complete fiction. The documentary went all into the history of the alleged Blair Witch, etc. So, going into it with the idea that it was real, made it
more enjoyable. After the movie, it didn't take much research to show it as fiction (though still took a bit of time to convince my friends it was
all made up).
Paranormal Activity was good the first time I saw it, but minus the jump scenes, I can't say I'd watch it again. The audience reaction was part of
the experience, and you just don't get that at home.
