After Katrina the Coast Guard performed miracles rescuing all those folks from rooftops. Sadly it was never reported on much if any due
to the media trying to make the president look like he was trying to kill folks.
Not sure about the president wanting to kill folks (just government generally being incompetent, for all the money they collect from us to no useful
end...).
They do some good things but we only hear about the screwups that I will admit.
But this is likely very true. Government DOES definitely do some good things, granted. Same thing with police. A lot of good effort and sometimes
good work, but usually outweighed by the bad. Unfortunately, there's still a lot of bad despite the purported good their intrusion into our lives is
supposed to accomplish.
Spending billions of dollars to prepare for something that could happen yet may never happen is not the best use for fed dollars.
Indubitably! Let us keep more money to prepare for likely disasters ourselves - and if we don't...well, sadly, that's our bad. Otherwise, as I've
said elsewhere, the government should just keep ALL our money to address ALL possible contingencies.
Thanks, and be well.
