we have ACTUALLY had extremely good weather for the last 2 weekjs - with negligable rain in most parts of the UK

I also remember past Aprils having this amount of sunshine and good weather too. Seems to me like the CNN quote in the OP is a typical US view of our weather or something.

You'd better tell everyone at BBC radio that, then, because they were all talking quite a lot about how there was a 70% chance of rain, and how it was very overcast, and how amazing it was when the sun suddenly came out just as whatshername emerged.

Please note: the above is a response to the claim that the very idea it was overcast that day is some American fantasy. It is not an argument that there is anything meaningful about these events.

Well personally speaking, the weather has been glorious in my part of the UK for weeks, no rain, no overcast skies at all.

Also, I don't listen to or watch BBC in any form, too biased for my tastes.

Is it your opinion that the BBC may be so biased toward creating a narrative that they basically just made up the weather when reporting on the day? This is a real question -- I'm not ruling out the possibility.
