How to find people...

Here’s a thread for sharing hints and tips to locating lost loved ones (or others) on-line.

I’ve tried all the social networks, sans Craig’s list, I’ve tried going through searches after searches, etc. And, I still come up empty.

So, what are your best tricks to hunting people down (for good not evil, lol)...?

And no, let’s NOT include anything we have to PAY for. That’s a NO NO!

Get to it you detectives out there - give up the info!

I would start off by typing their name on Facebook. Most of the really good programs I've found you have to pay for.

If i can't find someone I'm looking for I try to think of a person who might know them or a way to find them, and find that person and ask them.

Three great answers so far - tried them all, but let's keep going!
There has to be a way to root people out somehow.

The second link : Even if they charge you for deeper info, they will give you an starting point and will spot the person first for free.

This site gives lots of details for free, actually its so invasive that its been in threads on ATS because of it. I have checked it out myself and was fascinated with the detail it has. You can pay for it if you want it all, but just a name and a state is enough to get phone numbers, addresses, etc,.

I had a old girlfriend I wondered how she was if she became a wife and mother.

I started looking for her using the free part of those sites already mentioned.

It took me to her mothers address and ended.

I then thought about classmates.com

I remembered her telling the high school she attended.

Classmates.com with a paid membership took me to the year she graduated and she was listed.

She had updated her information and even gave her married name hew husbands.

I went back to the locater web site I started out with and put his name in.

It showed all his past residents and who also were listed as living there.

It gave me the name of her children and listed her too.

And an address.

Putting the address in Google Earth it took me directly to where she lives presently.

Well, no luck with any of the above so far. Thanks all for your help though.

Any other possibilities???

Anyone know what pay program detectives use? Maybe I can use a one shot deal or something?
