The Pirate Bay Shut Down After Legal Pressure!

www.swedishwire.com

A number of major Hollywood movie companies have obtained a preliminary injunction against CyberBunker operator CB3ROB from a German court, the blog Torrent Freak wrote Monday.

It stated that the operator and its general manager Sven Olaf Kamphuis were prohibited from connecting The Pirate Bay website and its servers to the Internet.

Therefore, the their bandwidth provider has stopped routing The Pirate Bay’s traffic until his lawyers have reviewed the legal documents, the blog said.

Well this is not good news for peer to peer file sharers out there... ThePirateBay is definitely the biggest p2p site out there and they were known for not backing down to the demands of Hollywood and the American legal system.

It seems that they have found a way around ThePirateBay's resistance and have gone straight to the internet provider to stop the websites services.

Hollywood and other major entertainment companies are not going to gain any more friends by these actions and I would not be surprised if this gains the attention of anonymous if it even matters.

B-B-B-ut...I am there right now?

Maybe?

The last stand for internet freedom has been taking hits for a long time. I can't believe they will close. I say 'will' cause it's still there as of right now but maybe it's getting ready to close.

definately not good news and it is a true injustice.

99% of the crap hollywood or hollylame puts out they should be paying people to watch instead of the other way around.

but considering its the net one goes down another few dozen pop back up.

p2p has more power than any government on this planet and always will because people like to share.

No problem for me, I haven't used PirateBay for years now, private closed trackers are the way to go.

I see public trackers going in the near future anyway, and I have been in the P2P BitTorrent scene since Suprnova was launched and there was only one very basic BitTorrent client, I remember like only 20/30 people on the latest movies with 400mb and 500mb dvd rips and no seedbox's.

They are not closed the OP neglected to look at the date/ time stamp. It is an old article from 2010; man this kind of mistake just kills me. and I am even guilty of it I see a big headline and get all caught up in it and BOOM I post something and than go back and i'm like. Man what was I thinking this is from 01.
