www.unitedwestrike.com...

I'm going to shut down my business tomorrow.
I also won't spend a dime.

This will have little effect? ... Maybe.
If alot of people do this, will it affect small businesses?... Yes
My loss for the day? ... yes.
Better than doing nothing? ... Yes.
Worth it for simply trying to send a message to the tyrants ... Yes.

What say you?

I have been saying this for years... an all out across the board economic strike. who knows what it could do. I know that police and fire fighters and medical and emergency shouldn't, but hell yes... teachers, food stores, gas stations.... shut them down or just dont go to work. imagine if the truckers stopped for a day!! our country would come to a stand still!

And yes... it will have a negative effect for us "commoners" but everyone needs a good kick in the butt.... including our government, even if its just one slice from the knife.

Point being?

like...what is april 15 stand for?...the message and hopeful topic addressing

Cant just strike because life can suck at times...there needs to be a focus..

and stuff like this typically is planned months in advance (or at least weeks) for effect.

Does this apply to the illegals who are here in America picking fruit and smuggling drugs? There won't be any fruit picking and drug dealing?

Well, I'd like to buy everyone a coke. Except the Coca-Cola truck drivers will be taking the day off. I don't know about these worldwide hand holding events. Last month when they had that Earth Hour thing, where people sat in the dark for an hour like it was the fifth century, I watched NASCAR.

I think a worldwide strike on child birth would be more efficient.

first time i've ever heard of this. That being said ... perhaps this is the first time most folks have heard of this. I doubt the success.

a one day strike will do absolutely nothing.
Make it last a month and you will have a
better outcome.

Yes... probably insignificant. But its just something I'm personally doing wether it makes a difference or not. Like I said, anything is better than nothing. I can't exactly march into the white house and tell everyone they're fired for accepting rule from big banks and big corp.

great idea, I don't have a job, so I will continue to not work on that day

Can't tax what you don't make. I'm sure they would hurt more than us.

You won't even come CLOSE to the numbers needed for this to even be noticed. It needs to be more public. I wish you luck either way

I'm with you on that one. Some kind of controlled 1-3 month "reset" would be the way to go.
Nothing will ever happen though if people keep say "nothing will take hold if there isn't enough people", or "if everyone around me isn't doing anything then my efforts won't matter".... etc.... I guess thats the problem with this mostly passive nation.

Didn't you hear?... you don't even have to have a job anymore. You can just pan-handle down on the corner, make more than the worker bees, and still not pay taxes

I agree that this needs to be bigger and on a grander scale. I thinking we should plan something signifigant for say May.. Organize a nationwide walk out or something. Everyone agrees to not buy anything and everyone should just walk out of work at the same time in solidarity against the government and demand change. Sounds good to me

I am with you and got your back.

However, I saw where a new iphone is coming out soon so forget it, people need the latest and greatest technojunk to live their daily lives. So they will all go to work as usual so they can get it when it is released.

I'm not trying to start any "big" thing here. The meaning of this thread was simply to point
out that website I came across and to simply address what I'm personally going to do.
Wether it makes a difference or not, non compliance with the tyrants always feels good
