No, I didn't read the article. I'm pretty certain if the Chinese have banned time travel it's because Falun Gong have claimed to have the means. I don't exactly what the Falun Gong means by time travel, that's around the part of the discussion where I lost interest in the pretty woman telling about her spiritual beliefs.

I know it has been pointed out previously but it needs repeating. All of the Back to the Future features and any of the Quantum Leap episodes should be banned. Period.

Maybe they know something we don't?

There has to be a reason they are so scared to ban this, and I doubt it's from something they saw on TV.

Just wonderin, if the Germans have done this too

Here's a list of specific movies that are affected by the ban, and a lot of them are my favorites:

www.dailymail.co.uk...

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Back to the Future
The Time Traveller’s Wife
12 monkeys
All the Star Trek films
All the Terminator films
Planet of the Apes
The Butterfly Effect
Austin Powers
A Christmas Carol

What a list of good movies! At least the ones I've seen are good except Star Trek V, but I haven't seen all the movies on that list.

My condolences to the Chinese people who can't watch these movies. Now they'll just have another reason to get subtitled versions of these movies via bootleg copies, if they want to see them.

This may be a more rational explanation to this ban on time travel:

Common themes revolve around protagonists going back to ancient times, with script writers often taking liberties with plots and events.

It's not so much they are banning time travel as they are banning movies with historical revisionism -- this could still be an example of a paranoid government.

[HAHA]

Well, I suppose it's a productive way to eliminate the idea of time travel.

However, aren't illegal things just so attractive? Some of them at least
