Awww, I was jusk kidding really, it was beautiful. I had 3 kids with me one of them was 18 months at the time. So, I really didn't get anytime to sit back and absorb it in all it's beauty. This year she will be 2.5, I'm hoping she will spend some time playing in the sand and occupying herself more.

I would call that rooted, not pathetic. Close ties with people that you have known your whole life, familiar places. Nothing to sneeze at! I have been all over the place (well, not ALL over, but lots of places), and moved a lot. Family all spread out, friends move, or I do, etc. Seen a lot, but would trade for the closeness.
