Just curious about everyone elses favorites.

For me is Close Encounters of the 3rd King and Independance Day.

Independance Day is more the action kind of flick. I thought the invasion of the alien ships was well done however I wasn't too impressed with the Aliens themselves, they didn't seem realistic.

Close Encounters had a great story line and a few terrifying scenes. Above all the Aliens, once finally shown, seemed very realistic to me as that's pretty close to what I feel an intelligent extraterrestrial might look like.
The let down for me was the UFOs.. especially the big one at the end.

Contact deserves mention for a good story line but there wasn't much 'Alien' about it.

Shars you favs.. looking to download some to watch later...

The Abyss from 1989 by James Cameron
The Thing from 1982 by John Carpenter

and Close Encounters of the Third Kind from 1977 by Steven Spielberg as you mention

"Close Encounters" will always be the classic Grandaddy of all UFO movies.
I would put "The Fourth Kind" as a close second....

Alien is my all time favorite. It was ahead of its time, great story and special effects, and it still scares the crap out of me.

Saucers crashing through and slicing off the Washington Monument and into the Capital Dome and into the huge columns at the at Congress??? OOOOh,

Next to that only "Mars Attacks" can compare.

Hmmmm.

The Alien series.

Altered

Killer Clowns from Outer Space......not really

Signs was decent. But speaking of that, remember when they were watching the news and there was a report of a bird(s) flying then suddenly smashed into an invisible ship and dropped dead? Remember the 5,000 dead birds in Arkansas? They died from blunt force trauma, right?

5000 dumb birds
