Embedding Youtube Videos

Dear ATS.

I never seem to be able to make this work. I've followed the instructions laid out here on ATS, as well as asked others for help, and it just doesn't play ball.

Can someone write out a simple, more comprehensible guide to how I can actually embed YouTube videos properly?

I know there's a code button, I even have code the written down seperately. I can create the 'embedded video' box, but nothing ever appears inside it. What am I doing wrong?

When you making a reply post you will see 13 little boxes underneath your username. click the youtube button. It will ask you for the youtube video number. the youtube number is as follows,

v=nEG_V-aw5VE

You have to put the red numbers/letters in the youtube video box. If you see this link

?v=GfMtTOEFuwE&feature=related #

then you want to put all the yellow letters (don't include the &, do it up to that) in the youtube box.

copy the numbers & letters after the = on the youtube url. click on the youtube thing near the top of the ats page & paste the numbers into that.

How about youtube vids on the comments section of someones profile? I know thats a different process, was wondering how to do that.

Simplest way...

On the profile page ( I changed http to hxxp for this example purpose).:
hxxp://www.youtube.com/user/sxephil

Find the video on the right side of the page (click on it to load it up..). You'll notice a series of numbers behind the link like this:
hxxp://www.youtube.com/user/sxephil#p/u/2/wdFAqD2-XC0

So grab/copy the last series of numbers, in this case:
wdFAqD2-XC0

Now click on your ATS YouTube Link for your thread, paste the numbers into it.. and "WA-LAA", you now have it added to your post. This is the only work-a-round that I know of that works all the time..
