Ok, the sun is down and Denver is still reading a 94 for radiation on: RADIATION NETWORK

Tell me how this isn't bad since the sun is down and no solar radiation should be hitting Denver right now.

Anyone else following this?!?

The "Alert Level" for the map is 100 CPM...

We were just at 94 at NIGHT TIME!

They seem to be going up!

I am in Minnesota thankfully, but I have friends in Denver... this isn't good and this isn't natural.

According to the EPA website the radiation in the midwest should spike betwix the 1st and 2nd of April. Looks like its getting here earlier.

These are the 3 best sites for up to date radiation monitoringg:

EPA's RadNet monitoring - The EPA's official monitoring site for USA radiation

Radiation Network This is the map I am watching... updates automatically every minute.

The Nevada Program - Nevada knows nukes! And they know how to monitor radiation levels too!

Seems to be bouncing to higher highs and dropping not as far back down each time...

That would indicate a steady increase - not to mention that solar radiation is not a factor in these readings right now!

Of all the readings on that (possibly compromised) radiation network, Denver has been the consistently highest reading, although yours are the highest I have heard.

Background radiation exposure for a person living in a brick house in Denver, Colorado is approximately three times larger than the exposure of a person living in a wooden home in Palo Alto, California. The factors that contribute to the increased background exposure for the person in Denver include the:

1. High elevation of Denver (more cosmic ray muons reach the ground in Denver)
2. Rock structures in the two areas (more radon in Denver)
3. Bricks in the house contain traces of radioactive elements, whereas wood contains very little.

I am no expert. The one thing I wonder about is the Denver International.
Could this reading be up from airliners coming in with radiation?

Thats cutting it close, just looked its 98.

So 100 is RADIATION ALERT level!

Who here really thinks that the residents of Denver, Colorado USA will be alerted by ANYONE that there is dangerous radiation?

(Aside from me here on ATS that is!)

I read on another thread (but there was not a source for it) that the US avg is 131 today. I have been looking
for a source for that but can't find it.

Will TPTB inform us re media if we get in the danger zones or are they
going to leave it up to us?

Anyone watching TV, stay alert for messages, don't forget to check
your local stations.

I would suggest if we see readings above normal
for any extended amount of time to call your local
news stations, ask them to check and announce
it. They should have that obligation to the public -
it goes right along with weather alerts.
