place. But the birth was not finite. It was infinite. As the womb slumbered and the mitosis of the future began, it was perceived that this infamous
moment in life is not temporal, it is eternal. And thus began the beginning of the new race, a race within the race of humanity. A race which bears no
prejudice, no judgement, but boundless freedom.
But on that same day as the eternal mother hovered in the multiverse another more terrifying birth took place: the birth of evil. And as she herself
split into two, rotating in agony between two ultimate forces, the pendulum of choice began its dance. It seems easy you imagine togravitate instantly
and unwaveringly towards good. But she wondered, ‘How can I protect something so perfect without evil?’”
Thank you OP!
Thank you for taking the time to deconstruct this important Lady Gaga music video. So out of the many Gaga threads I picked yours specifically to
discuss this one particular song.
I want to add some asynchronous insights which came to me upon watching the extended version of her video which is deeply connected to the Matrix. The
narrative structure at the beginning of the video is an introductory to the program and the program is the song, music and lyrics itself.
matrix
late 14c., from O.Fr. matrice, from L. matrix (gen. matricis) "pregnant animal," in L.L. "womb," also "source, origin," from mater (gen. matris)
"mother." Sense of "place or medium where something is developed" is first recorded 1550s; sense of "embedding or enclosing mass" first recorded
1640s. Logical sense of "array of possible combinations of truth-values" is attested from 1914. Source:

Gaga's second studio album and third major release Born This Way will be released on May 23, 2011.
May 23 is the 143rd day of the year (144th in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar.
There are 222 days remaining until the end of the
year. Source: Wiki
The purpose of World Turtle Day, May 23, sponsored yearly since 2000 by American Tortoise Rescue, is to bring attention to, and increase knowledge of
and respect for, turtles and tortoises, and encourage human action to help them survive and thrive. Source: Wiki
1844 – May 23 - Declaration of the Báb: a merchant of Shiraz announces that he is a Prophet and founds a religious movement that would later be
brutally crushed by the Persian government. He is considered to be a forerunner of the Bahá'í Faith, and Bahá'ís celebrate the day as a holy day.

Siyyid `Alí Muḥammad Shírází (Persian: سيد علی محمد شیرازی) (October 20, 1819 – July 9, 1850) was the founder of Bábism,
and one of three central figures of the Bahá'í Faith. He was a merchant from Shíráz, Persia, who at the age of twenty-four (on May 23, 1844)
claimed to be the promised Qá'im (or Mahdi). After his declaration he took the title of Báb (Arabic: باب) meaning "Gate".
"A simple nine-pointed star is generally used by Bahá'ís as a symbol of their Faith. The number nine has significance in the Bahá'í Revelation.
Nine years after the announcement of the Báb in Shiraz, Bahá'u'lláh received the intimation of His mission in the dungeon in Teheran. Nine, as the
highest single-digit number, symbolizes completeness. Since the Bahá'í Faith claims to be the fulfillment of the expectations of all prior
religions, this symbol, as used for example in nine-sided Bahá'í temples, reflects that sense of fulfillment and completeness." Source:

The Greek form Babylon (Βαβυλών) is an adaptation of Akkadian Babili. The Babylonian name as it stood in the 1st millennium BC had been changed
from an earlier Babilli in early 2nd millennium BC, meaning "Gate of God" or "Gateway of the God" (bāb-ili) by popular etymology. Source: Wiki
In the Hebrew Bible, the name appears as בָּבֶל (Babel; Tiberian בָּבֶל Bavel; Syriac ܒܒܠ Bāwēl), interpreted in the Book of Genesis
(11:9) to mean "confusion" (viz. of languages), from the verb בלבל bilbél, "to confuse". Source: Wiki
I am speculating that Lady Gaga's artwork in this video might be about star gates, the matrix and the existential dilemma, praxis and eXistenZ.
