Actually, there is a lot of discussion in the whole "nature-vs-nurture" theory and from where one draws his drive, intellect and physical endurance. I would not dismiss it out of hand as if it doesn't play some or even the whole part in a person's development. All of the traits I listed are most certainly a product of one’s nationality or geographical location of birth combined with the culture of his parents and the culture of the society of which he is a member while in the developmental stages.

There is an older book The Bell Curve that lays out a pretty scientific case for correlation (a direct one) to race in determining IQ. It’s a hot button issue as all discussion of race is inevitably in America so you can probably find as many people who disagree with the study and it's methods as I can for people who support it so let’s not waste time going there.

I think one could cite Mexican culture in which the family unit is strong and the men proud and hard work being a standard as a reason for their success and work ethic. Especially, when compared to black culture in America which doesn't place value on a marriage, fathers are distant or absent as role models and a culture of entitlement and welfare is common in urban centers.

I am not qualified to judge maters of genetics but I certainly can observe after seeing all kinds of people in 24 years in the military that what the representative says might hold some water culturally.

Not in all instances; of course this is a losing statement from the get go because it’s a generalization - there are exceptions to every rule.

While it seems generalizations have become taboo in the age of political correctness sometimes making a sweeping generalization is a quick way to make a point but perhaps not the most accurate way to debate a complex issue.

I agree that some people are willing to work for lesser wages but, I have to say that, I disagree that hair or eye color can somehow calculate one's willingness, or desire to work hard to get what they want out of life.

You stated a lot of what I guess I was trying to say....color of skin, hair, or eyes matter nothing in the big picture.

Most of us do our best to take care of those that we love and, we do the best we can...for as long as we are afforded the opportunity.

When the opportunity diminishes,,,,well, that is when we tend to become extremely resourceful. As a result, the "Laws of Man", become a little bit more irrelevent.

you know I picked peaches right along side mexcians once no kidding (btw im white so much for your whites rea lazy argument heck for the last 9 weeks i been working for a 100 $ a week doing (SKILLED work) shows just how bad things are dont it? so take the whites dont want to work a shovel it lol.
anyway picking peaches well i did that for a week making 10 to 15$ a day
and no dought the mexcians were able to produce 3 times as many peaches as i could .
BUT and its a BIG but .The boos says ok heres the job and heres how i want it done .
well me 9hes the boos so i do what he says . he says only pick the peaches taht are ripe but not rotted so i pick the peaches taht are ripe and not rooted ONLY.
well thous mexcians they PICKED every thing every last one green rotted or not so yes they could fill a bag fast but 3/4 of it would be throun away .
so ok maybe they will work harder but the work will be shody and short cutted every way possible .
you think there so great get them to build your next home it will cost half as much .
But i wouldnt want to live in that house lol .when the next hurricain comes along and its made from paper what do you think will happen?

I live in the Austin area. My son's work career has been distroyed by Mexicans, by and large illegals that simply get hired at a cheaper rate. And because they will work hard! Damn it, they are hungry, they have familes to feed back south of the border.

It is a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. But that guy spoke the plain truth but few want to hear it, black or white because it ain't politically correct. But business leaders with their feet on the ground were the first to get the clear perspective. Cheap labor that does the job they were hired for. There is no simple solution, ignoring doesn't help, it just festers.

I never said I didn't want to hear it. I never said I was going to ignore it. A mexican citizen, unless authorized to be here, should be deported. The job that Mexican national has, should be taken away, as we have, or atleast have had, record highs in unemployment. Also, in terms of who wroks harder, it may have something to do with morale. Well if "Mexicans" work harder than the rest of us..... Why is Mexico, still a dirty armpit to society, run by druglords and corrupt government officials? If they work so hard, why would they not work there hardest to remedy that situation before invading another country?
I beleive they found the easiest way out. They don't work any more harder than someone in the U.S., who works just enough, not to get fired.

You know when I think of quality goods Mexico isn't the first place that comes to mind. Niether is china, india or any other place that produces 'cheap' goods.

Who does make good quality are the Europe, Canada and USA if you are willing to pay for it.
