Mubarak has been president for nearly 30 years and has earned a solid wealth for themselves and their families. The family will be good for at least 40 billion dollars, or 240 billion. If this estimate is correct, Mubarak is the world's richest obvious. Forbes, the magazine that keeps track of who is the world's richest, has estimated that the fortune of Carlos Slim Helu's 53.5 billion dollars, while Bill Gates has an estimated fortune of 53 billion

Some say even that it is about 70 billion U.S. dollars, 420 billion. When the equivalent amount of nearly half a Norwegian national budget.

If this estimate is correct, Mubarak is the world's richest obvious. Forbes, the magazine that keeps track of who is the world's richest, has estimated that the fortune of Carlos Slim Helu's 53.5 billion dollars, while Bill Gates has an estimated fortune of 53 billion dollars.

Forbes even doubts that the estimate of 70 billion dollars.

The President's family says no, even if their financial circumstances. But anonymous sources in Egypt and other countries, according to media reports in the Middle East that Mubarak, his wife and two sons a fortune amounting to 40 billion dollars. If the money was divided among the 32 million Egyptians who live on two dollars a day, could each received $ 1,250.

Business Model

The money is not earned in the normal way. The Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger writes that Mubarak has been rich in corruption and a special "business model" where the president and his family claims, and receives 50 percent of the profits of large companies in Egypt.

The U.S. television channel ABC quoted a phrase in Egyptian law that stipulates that foreign companies will provide a

United Kingdom

Mubarak family seems to have a predilection for the UK when it comes to investments. Maybe it's because Mubarak's wife Suzanne is half British.

After several days of demonstrations and protests, while still growing in size, reported the BBC's Arabic language service that the Mubarak-couple's youngest son, Gamal (47) had left in haste to London with his family in a private jet. With the plane, there were also 97 cases.

In the Egyptian community in London there are rumors that even Hosni, Suzanne and the eldest son, Alaa (49) is ready to go to the British capital. It denied the state's Egyptian kringkastingen.Men Also last weekend, there was considerable traffic with private jets from Cairo airport, reported TV station Al Jazeera. 19 aircraft with a very wealthy business people took off, and everyone should have been heading for Dubai.

Being a corrupt political leader in the Arab world for 20+ years has its benefits, apparently.

No wonder he doesn't want to step down, he's making too much money!

What you will find in the Forbes list is "First Generation Wealth" these are people who haven't been around long enough to begin hiding their money in Trusts, Foundations and Corporate Spider Webs.

The richest people in the world belong to families who have been amazing wealth for hundreds even thousands of years, and passing it along from one generation to another, hiding it in the above mechanisms and precious metals.

Everyone loves a good rags to riches story though.

If you squint, tilt your head to the left and insert a banana into your rear, you can just about get the gist of it.

Could be up to $70 Billion? Cripes, no wonder the Egyptians are pissed. In fact, do they even know this and should we tell them? I think they'd go mental.

Seems to me that bribery works when keeping Isreal safe ... perhaps this is where all those funds from the USA under foreign aid went over the last 30 years.

Doesnt anyone find it interesting that the back and forth battle for the "Worlds Richest" title seesaws between a man in "the worlds greatest nation" and a man in one of the poorest nations?

Being a corrupt leader in any country where western corporate and other wealthy interests want to do business is profitable. You get "aid" packages that the people in the first world pay for, to buy your compliance so that a few can get richer ripping off your nations resources, or using your nation as a pipeline to rip off a neighbors resources.

Just dont get too uppity, or the corporate or other wealthy interests will spend more of the citizens of the first worlds money to wage war on your ass. Again, making the rich richer, on the tax payers dime.

Its a great system.

Forbes only tells us whose at the bottom of the rich list in the elitist world.

I wonder what the qualifications are for this list because there are some seriously wealthy people (and family lineages) that are absent from it. I don't think this truly reflects the state of affairs.

No way is he anywhere near the most financially well off.
There are occult elite families who would literally piss on mubaraks wealth for breakfast.
These families fart trillions for a joke, then instigate a few secret wars and the odd coup before they even tie their shoelaces in the morning,.
Who do you think put MOobarak where he is?

The guy is a ditch living cretin to TPTB overlords.
They have many more better than he,if they need the chess pieces.
All IMHO of course.

Pretty much agree. This Mubarak guy is a pawn that got caught up in the game. He's worthless to anyone that has control. Hell, he's even worthless to the United States. Right guy in the right place for Mubarak, wrong guy in the wrong place for us serfs.

Why does this instantly turn into an Israel bashing post? Was that the original intention?

As for asking why Israel supports this man, are you kidding me? They are surrounded by enemies who want nothing more than to wipe Israel into the sea, and Eqypt has been one of the only voices of reason in the Arab world. Heaven forbid a country would support a neighbour who actually wanted to foster peace instead of war?

I highly doubt the source of this information. How did these people come up with the dollar amounts they did? Sounds like guesswork to me unless one of Mubaraks own accountants contributed to this article.

No star or flag from me. You have taken a very innocent article and applied an anti-Israeli spin to it.
