WASHINGTON - Waste and fraud in U.S. efforts to rebuild Afghanistan while fighting al Qaeda and the Taliban may have cost taxpayers billions of dollars, a special investigator said on Monday.

Arnold Fields, special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction, said the cost of U.S. assistance funding diverted or squandered since 2002 could reach "well into the millions, if not billions, of dollars."

Isn't it just fantastic, that while we lose jobs and homes here, struggle just to eat and survive, our gov and war profiteering mega corps can just continue on, month after month, playing with billions of our tax dollars, with no real oversight of where they are going?

Just love that after nearly ten years of this merry-go-round we still can funnel out over $10 BILLION per month on this little cash cow for the M.I.C. and senate goons who are profiteering through their shares in war corp industries:

U.S. and NATO partners hope Afghan forces will be able to take control by the end of 2014 as the West looks to curtail its involvement after nine years that at the present level of effort costs U.S. taxpayers at least $113 billion a year.

I find it astonishing that conservatives will constantly bring up the waste in social programs, health, day care, research etc.

But completely ignore corruption, fraud and waste that the American taxpayer pays to the Military industrial war profiteers.
