Alaska man... if you are a decent looking guy, nice man... then she is a dumb@@s. She never deserved you and faked you through your marriage. SHE was the sham. Move to Alabama and let a real woman be the "real deal" for you..

lol

Seriously, it seems like the end of the world but you are the good person, she is either too immature, idiotic or just plain stupid to realize what she will lose without you. Just breath, keep going to work and within weeks you will be better until one day you just don't remember why it hurt so much. I promise. I have had it happen to me. Just recently.

It is forbidden to sleep with a married woman.

I wonder what my wife would think of that? She'd be upset if her 'privileges' were removed.

How about unmarried women? Are they fair game?

Yes, it's unfortunate that people's trust has been betrayed, but that's humanity for you. Full of lying cheating deceivers with sex and greed on their minds. Sheesh, even the supposed 'gods' were cheaters and tricksters, so what hope for us?

Thanks for pointing out my confusing sentence.

I suppose that reflected my state of mind at the time, because it's really upsetting being pulled into something like that, especially if the cheating partner insists on bragging about it to certain people (me in this case).
But fortunately distance makes the heart grow fonder.
However, just to see how illegal it was to sleep with another man's wife, I was astounded to read this about Texas. It appears that not all murder was against the law in the USA, as is often falsely believed:

A Texas law passed in 1837 allowed a husband to kill his wife's lover if the two were caught in flagrante delicto- i.e., with his (or their) pants down (or skirt up). Seemingly to allow Texas husbands to keep their options open, the law was not repealed by the state legislature until 1974.

Some people have DIFFERENT views than OTHERS.
Let people make their mistakes.
This is an affair that doesn't involve you, (as much as you may think)

Two people that love each other have a bond with each other.
It's their choice to do what they want with what they have.

You've got it all wrong......The husband doesn't know....so he doesn't have a choice in it......he is just being cheated on.....That is not right....and you know it....but you sound like a cheater yourself....

Have fun with karma in the future.

After other discussions on late night radio (all anonymous, of course), people in similar situations say it is best to stay out of it.
That's worked really well.
Why should I break up the home of a child?
It's their relationship and their business, and their karma.
If there is a God who sees everything then He can choose to reveal what He chooses.
Not only that, but people tend to shoot the messenger.
And what if she and everybody else just denies it?
Then I'd look like a real nasty liar.
Hardly see them now anyway, and other relatives that know are far more qualified to get involved if they choose.
Either way, the friendship is not the same and ruined in a sense.

Do people who get married and commit adultery actually realize what they do to the people around them?

They aren't thinking of others...just themselves. However, there are MANY reasons for adultery, and just as many judgements that can be made based on those reasons. It's not black and white, though most times, the cheater is just thinking of themselves, and should have tried to work on differences before sleeping around.

Some would say you have a duty as a friend to report it...but if others are closer, and know...then they are doing an even greater disservice. The longer it goes on, the more harm it will cause. But, if you aren't comfortable telling, then don't, simple as that. Either way, you've got to live with the consequences of either choice.

How many of us are tattle-tales when it comes to government?
Not many.
How many would immediately phone the cops if the neighbors smoke pot, or if your friend had some drugs at home?
So why must we be tattle-tales for destructive morality?
It's like we owe a greater debt to friendship than the state.
Why is that???

Perhaps because we suspect the state has a conspiracy against us all, and we are fighting back with silence.
With adultery the state no longer gets involved.
So now the ball for a dated imposed morality is in our court?
Bah - nobody has a consistent morality.

If you knew the consequences, or lived in a country where adulterers are stoned in line with the Old Testament, would you tell?
OK, here it's not stoning, but the illusion of a happy family life for a kid.
Screw the morality - living a lie is a lesser evil.

For me it's another betrayal.
I always thought the deep, platonic friendship between a woman and her gay side-kick was sacred.
Even straight men trust it.
But she's put this whole institution into jeopardy.
I told her, if you end up with HIV, don't blame it on me, because I'm totally innocent in this.
It's almost like I was also cheated.
Reminds me of Nirvana - Where did you sleep last night?:

Well, whatsoever people do, for me an old favorite, Fats Domino says it best:
Don't Blame it on Me:

Ah, the chicken's way out.

Yes - quite a number of the gay men I knew way back are now dead because of this exact view. And usually, they took someone out with them. While others who knew it was happening disavowed the entire thing.

Sad.

I'm not quite sure I understand your point?
Are you perhaps referring to gay men who slept with their female friends (which is not what happened here)?
Otherwise I really don't see how discretion is killing me or anybody else.
There are straight people closer to them who also know, and ultimately it was her actions and her responsibility, so in this case if anything is destroyed it is the fault of the cheating straight women.

HIV is widespread in SA and her chances of being infected by a straight man are just as great.
