X - Factor - Soft Pornography ??

I have to be honest and say that I DO NOT watch the X-factor, one of the few in the UK on a Saturday night.......
So I didn't see the 'final' but heard about it and the winner......

My curiosity though peaked when I heard about the dance routines of two of the professional 'Acts' namely Christina Aguilera and Rihanna..... The media, (Daily Mail et al) are getting their knickers in a twist over the routines namely because of the number of complaints of the clothing and suggestive dancing at a time in the evening where there would be a Significant Child Viewing audience....

I'm curious of the general feeling / opinion of members to this........ Was it too much ? ,, Is it an erosion of standards and morals? Does it not really matter ? Was it Simon Cowell imposing his 'might' on society ? Is it a complete distraction to all the other ill's in society ???

Being a red-blooded male then the Blonde in the pictures (attached link) is certainly ''interesting'' but I would have expected to buy a magazine or do some dodgy internet search if i wanted images like that !!??

More and more of this is quickly creeping into the mainstream. I remember when you had to be 18 to pick up a Playboy with this kind of stuff in it. Now Playboy is as explicit as Hustler. What the deuce?

edit: Not that I'm a prude, mind you...

I dont like to think of myself as some kind of prude. But I found the whole thing a little OTT, very in your face and very sexually charged. This all before the watershed too. It's not good, this is meant to be a family show not an introduction into pornograohy. There is a moral decay in this country, with the media being to blame for much of it.

However I do think that our young people in society are being overexposed to sexuality form a young age but unfortunately there isn’t really much we can do about it. the X-Factor final is only a small part of a much bigger problem, so big its negligible. It might just be that I am used to seeing this on TV but I didn’t find it similar to soft-core porn. I really wouldn’t be taking the world of the daily mail on this.

i dont mind watching it lol, but i dont like the thought of my 4 yr old daughter watching it. there are loads video's on you tube pertaining to the illuminati having control of music personalities such as the girls on xfactor, weither they do or not i dont know.

That should not be shown at any time that has children viewing, and it should have a Adults Only disclaimer at the start.

A 14 year old with his laptop in his bedroom is quite a different story then the same 14 year old sitting with his parents, when this comes on tv. I don't know about you, but even as an adult (at 27) I wouldn't feel comfortable watching that with my parents.

I was well p**sed of when i saw it. I have a young daughter who loves x factor, and i watched it with her. Christina augilara's routine, well ok, it was in a burlesque style routine which i suppose does have some 'art' to it, but it was WAY TOO MUCH for a family prime time tv show. My daughter giggled when rihanna came on and did her open legged dance routine, and said ' mummy thats so rude' These dance routine should have been toned way down, simon cowell should remember its not the music stars who have the power its the consumers watching the tv programme. Incidentally, i thought id point out the other thing that happened saturday night, (british members may know about it). The boy band Take That were due to perform their new single 'kidz' but it was pulled at the the last moment because simon cowell wouldnt allow them to perform the dance routine. It apparantly involved the x factor dancers dressed as police in riot gear holding shields. He thought it was inappropriate considering the student protests that are currently taking place. Pity he didnt think rihanna and christinas routine were also inappropriate.
Also Rebecca should have won. Conspiracy.

Cheryl Cole CANNOT sing and should not be in the position to JUDGE other really talented young individuals in front of MILLIONS because she does NOT QUALIFY for the job!
ALL her vocals are recorded with a software tool called "AUTOTUNE"
(for people who sing OUT OF TUNE!) and she NEVER SINGS 100% LIVE without a baking track to cover and uses AutoTune because she CANNOT!
I and other professional producers CAN HEAR IT! CLEARLY!
I DARE Cheryl Cole to sing UNPLUGGED.

If you look closely into Cheryl Coles' eyes when judging REALLY talented Female singers who CAN SING, you will see PURE ENVY and that is why she puts them OUT!

I am a very experienced (for 25 Yrs) International music producer, singer writer and composer working with many TOP Stars and unknowns and I'm VERY disappointed and deeply concerned about the negative impact unqualified "JUDGES" like Cheryl Cole have on young talented individuals who are more talented than herself!

Im from ireland and the x factor has always been fixed why is every1 going mad over the dances if you think its not right for your kids then dont have them up that late people going on about there 4 year olds or 8 year olds seeing that they should be in bed for get the x factor put them to bed so they get a good night sleep and can get up for school on the monday tick how people say o my 3 year old seen that yeah well your fault for keeping them up to see it

Couldnt agree with you more. Danni and Cheryl are in no position to make these calls. Cheryl mimed when she did her single on the show, ( i also find her music dull and uninspiring) Danni has had about 3 hit singles, if that, and your right, Cheryl is envious of female singers who can sing. I knew something was rotten in the state of Denmark when Gamu Ngengu was booted off, that little girl really had something. Theres a part of me that wishes now id got my daughter into the BBC strictly dancing thing, it think it might have a little more integrity.
