Hi all. The amount of soldiers losing their limbs because of the bombings
in Iraq is staggeringly high. The above link addresses the casualty toll of troops; numbers you won't see in the mainstream media.

Note the article is already 7 months old. Consider how many bombs
have been hurled at our troops since.

Please send this link to others. People need to know our troops are plunked into the middle of a rapidly expanding hornet's nest.

Please work to bring them home. NOW.
I am a Republican. Political party affiliation shouldn't matter in this crisis.
This is Vietnam all over again.

The Walter Reed Hospital is doing a marvellous job in caring for all those badly wounded soldiers. But it is being mightily stretched as "they keep on coming". Praise be for the Kevlar body armour which protects the soldiers' bodies. But alas, their limbs are still vulnerable.

The interceptor vest are proven life savers and amazing but US troops need some type of full body or near full body armour. The designs for the future warrior system have a planned full head to toe armour for US troops. Hopefully they can develop new technology that will get the weight of armour down soon so our troops dont have to wait 20 years for the amazing armour of the future warrior

They have pictures of some of the recovering soldiers here:
Rehabilitation of Soldiers

It looks like they are being taken care of and are getting quality artificial limbs.

I didn't mean to imply the doctors were mistreating soldiers.
I meant the media is sweeping them under the rug. We only
see strappin' young men like the one you see in this photo.
We don't see boys missing both an arm and a leg.

Americans don't like those images; it makes them feel guilty. I once met
a German who said: "Americans support sending
young men abroad because they've never had bombs dropped on them."

Sadly, he was right. Lets face it - NY firemen cleaned up the
limbs, heads, etc down at the WTC site. Your average American
didn't. It's easy to wear rose colored glasses and think all the amputees
in military hospitals look like the guy in that photo when the media only presents "comfy" images to the public.

It is sad to see our troops injured in any sense. But thankfully, they are receiving the best care available.

The Iraqis that had their tongues pulled out or their hands chopped off received no such care. That is what these troops are trying to put an end to over there.

There is no comparison to Viet Nam. That is just an emotional cliche'.

I think that would be somekind armored exoskeleton... or at least they're targeting to those.
There's just "little" undone research in power sources.

LOL

you're right....

we didn't send ground troops into a land where the terrain
is grossly different then our own.....

we didn't help incite anti-us factions by arousing "this is our land - GET OUT" sentiment.....

we didn't start off as "liberators" and become "invaders"....

we won't have MIA cases - cuz our government is super nice
and reports every missing soldier to the media....

our soldiers aren't saying: "There's no just cause for our being here. We got screwed!" (see...the whole weapons of mass destruction thing was a lie so Bush could secure Iraq's oil).

it's a shame Americans are so stupid

oh by the way....

the goal after 9/11 was to get Bin Laden....not seek revenge on Saddam
for inflicting torture on his people....

No one's saying Saddam's a nice guy....but, um...doncha think it
would have been smarter to get the person responsible for the attack
on the Twin Towers???

Yeah, you'd think that after he knocked down their towers and killed 3,000 of them, they might use a username like BINBLOWS. Instead, they disrespect their president and sympathise with the terrorists.

Go figure.

unlike vietnam they were trained for such a war in such a situation, there are simulated cities on a few training bases in the desert areas in america, alot of america is desert, plains, farmland and such so iraq land isnt much different at all.

so, atleast we are trying to fix our mess in iraq, we shouldve finished it in 91 and avoided this resistance and bad rep.

and we did go after the people responsible in afghanistan and are still there doing it so why did you ask that?

Bush went after bin's clan in afghanistan one month after the attacks.
He waited because he was scared. Seriously.

Plus he wanted to zero in on Iraq for the oil.

What's up with this whole "he's our president so you gotta respect him" crap? That's rediculous. Lots of evil people rise to positions of power in politics. Judge him not by his title, Dopey Americans, but *by his deeds.*

Sorry, kid, but you can't simulate the middle east in American military training facilities. Hahahahaha. Good, typically-dimwitted-US-answer, tho!!

See, banana head....Vietnam taught us it's REALLY hard for ANY
soldier to be Rambo in terrain vastly different from ours. And guess what?
HOMETOWN WARRIORS HAVE AN AVANTAGE.

Remember the American Revolution? We kicked the Brits butts cuz
our terrain was difficult for the English to deal with.

Oh wait - I'm talking to an American. You don't know anything about History. Sorry!!

I voted for Bush, by the way. His invasion of Iraq made me loathe him.
Anyone with a brain in their heads could see he used it as a way to divert
the US from Bin Laden & was only after oil.

Anyone with a brain in their head knows you don't send ground troops
into a hornets nest. Hate to tell you, goofballs, but THE MIDDLE EAST IS GIGANTIC AND IT'S FILLED WITH ZILLIONS OF CRAZY PEOPLE WHO DISPISE US.

But hey....

why think realistically?

Thinking along those lines....where IS Bin Laden???? Any ideas???

You'd think we might be a little miffed he hasn't been found
after he crashed those pretty towers and killed all those firemen.

If you support our troops....you'd demand they come home.
They got the shaft.

Don't let anyone try to manipulate you by saying: he/she is anti Iraq
war therefore he/she is ANTI SOLDIER.

Lots of pro-Iraq-war politicians who have made big oil money off of
our soldier's being ployed use that manipulative tool as PROPAGANDA.

Fortunately, I have too many German genes to fall for that one. Hehe.

Don't be manipulated by the Non-Military-Oil-Bigwigs, public!

Demand our troops come home.

I doubt the World Trade Center would be happy Bush hasn't
found Bin Laden yet. Betcha those towers are flaming red he
used them as an excuse to send young people overseas
without a mission, too.

Not that Georgie cares. He was never much of a New Yorker, anyway.

(Oh...sorry about the Banana Head comment. Kinda
)

Bushblows - you show your colors by your immediate name calling and belittling of anyone who takes an opposing view to your, obvious, extreme bias. Typical of a left-winger - immediate personal attacks. People with opposing views of yours are "dopey, dim-witted, banana heads, Kid." Your kind is so predictable. No one listens to you. You're simply talking to yourself. I think your called a, uhh, oh yea, a Troll.

I can tell you by your post that they are many americans who are smarter and know more about history than you. For you to generalize a nation of 200 plus million people into catergories like you have done really shows the level of your intelligence. If you really hate america and americans that much dont let the door hit you on the way out.

That's pretty disrespectful and quite insensitive, even for a terrorist sympathizer. You ARE anti-soldier and anti-US.

I think it is miserable statement to this liberal media in this country that tends to overlook what is going on with our soldiers yet they repeatedly show the poor civilians. While that is sad too...we need to do better for our soldiers.
