First, the usual opening remark for all new threads: Mods, if this topic has been covered please remove thread.

I just went to ufocasebook.com to look for something when I saw this and I thought that it might generate some interest and, hopefully, a lively thread as various POVs are expressed. Just remember that your expressing only an opinion as there are probably no experts on stuff like this.

It's a balloon obviously...

Actually it's really weird, doesn't particularly look like artifact. I'm sure the NASA shill will be along shortly to tell us it's space poop....

They've got all bases covered don't they?

If they are on the moon then it has to be an alien artifact or is it proof they are not on the moon???

Basically they don't really care what it is, as long as it "proves" NASA wrong in some way.

Love it.

You notice the small rocks cast their shadows to the right, But this object appears to be almost floating with a tail and cast's no shadow?

No thought yet... still going through all the Apollo equipment they could have left up there. So far I don't see a match yet. Also still need to get an approximate size of that thing

I think I started telling Oberg that as far as I was concerned when talking about NASA videos content that his expertise was as good as mine!

What equipment? It had JUST landed..

The Eagle has just landed, this is one of the first images recorded and yet on the lunar surface is a clearly artifical object that appears to be observing the Lunar Lander.

If that's true of course..

I haven't had the time either to look around but I noticed that the photo numbers are not sequential since one number above or below the photo number (as11-40-5854hr) shows Earth from the moon or space instead of other surface photos. Not until 52 (and below) do you get another lunar surface photo.

Okay so... what is your opinion on what it is? The fact that there is no shadow also applies to the rocks near it. Also the shadow on the left near the top do not match the angle of those in the fore ground

I will clip them in a bit

That is odd will have to check that

AS = Apollo Spacecraft
11 = Mission Number
40 = Roll number

... so there is no way the image on both sides of that image on that role can be in orbit

But sleep now sleep is good

FFS -are you REALLY so ill educated or just playing to the audience ?

www.hq.nasa.gov...

is NOT the " origional photo " do you understand that ??????????

its a SCAN of a peice of kodak filmstock

the only way to review if this anomolie is actually present in the " origional photo " is to examine the negative

even a 1st generation print can ` aquire ` contamination during the enlarging and developing

so take your head out your arse and try again .

So do you have the negative or did that dissapear with the rest of the Apolloo 11 files??
If you don't have it or access to it then what do you suggest?
Should we just call this pic an artifact on the film and move along?

What do you think it is??

So many question and so few answers.

Here is the same photo from
eol.jsc.nasa.gov...

You can request a slightly higher resolution than than the sources above.

It's still pretty pathetic though, in 2010 all the photos from all the apollo missions should be available in extremely high res .tiff files.

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/bd15a57643f2.jpg[/atsimg]

I've adjusted the brightness / contrast / sharpness ... good find, can't say what it is though.
Does appear to have some sort of shadow though.

edit on 2-12-2010 by ppk55 because: changed 2011 to 2010, probably will still apply though
