PS - for a nominal materials and handling charge - you can get a copy of the actual photograph from NASA

Why would I buy a copy when,as you say, you need the negative to see any faults?

You musn't know much about Appolo if you never heard about the missing tapes..

News that these analog data tapes were missing broke on August 5, 2006 when the printed and online versions of The Sydney Morning Herald published a story with the title One giant blunder for mankind: how NASA lost moon pictures.[8] The missing tapes were among over 700 boxes of magnetic data tapes recorded throughout the Apollo program which have not been found.

en.wikipedia.org...
That's just a little bit..There's plenty of info on the web..
They also ERASED ,many tapes..Can you believe that???
One of the most historic events to ever occur and they reused the tapes..The mind boggle.

I love a conspiracy as much as the next guy. and no disrespect to the op. but, that looks like somebodies trying to pull a fast one. Damn if it dont look like your stereo- typical alien head. like he's been buried in the sand.

Peace.

i hope i,m wrong .

I'm the op and I don't consider your opinion a sign of disrespect. You're calling it as you're seeing it, all that is asked of everybody. However, I do not share your opinion that someone is trying to pull a fast one. You didn't state how you came to that conclusion. What "gives" it away that convinces you? And your comment that it looks like a stereo-typical alien head is based not on evidence of such beings but from the popular media.

I used to hang out at a 3-D forum and there was a contributor from Italy that used to turn classic Renaissance 2-D paintings into 3-D images with good depth so the characters stood out.

Is there anyone here that could do the same with the image provided by ppk55? It would be kinda cool to see that "head" stand out from the surface.

2010 all the photos from all the apollo missions should be available in extremely high res .tiff files.

That will be nice... we had them once but when I posted the direct link NASA moved them on us

Give Ape a break..He didn't even know about the missing Apollo tapes

So what do you think this thing is Zorgon..
It does appear to have a small shadow, which if true rules out artifacts on film etc..

The more I look at it the more I think NASA is playing with us
That 'shadow' is the wrong way

Look at the shadow on the rocks in front, then look at the shadow on the two bigger ones near top left... then tell me how I misunderstand perspective.

Also the Horizon looks manipulated It's to straight compared to other Apollo images... looks like they just chopped it off

As to the grumpy old ape, sometimes I wonder why he visits these thread

To bad EOL doesn't have the images on either side though

You're right..Every other shadow fits with the sun being bottom left somewhere..
The "thing" is opposite..

But this is on an original NASA pic??
I guess why they would do that is a silly question..

how the hell did you leap to this assanine conclusion ?????????????????

i merely asked YOU what you THOUGHT was missing

and as the topic of discussion is a 70mm kodak filmstock - all of which are accounted for - why you brought up the misplaced tapes - which were later recovered BTW

is anyones guess

PS - you " leaps of logic " are very revealling
