It sure doesn't look like they are all being controlled by TPTB at the moment!

All wikileaks seem to be is just gossip.

I doubt anything secret is in there.

Who or what is JESTER?

Just out of interest.

www.infosecurity-magazine.com...

He claims to be an ex-military(US) operative. He likes to take down 'threats' to the US.

OMG

China allows shipments of North Korean missiles
to go to Iran via Beijing. US asked them to halt
the shipments but China refused.

Not to me! No way!
IE the Saudia Arabia stuff? Trying to get us to attack Iran for them?
Because why? Bush is all in bed with them and they sell us a lot of oil, so we'll be forced into being their hired hand killers?

Power of the mob mate.

It has brought down empires before, will again.

Stop excusing yourselves by pointing out their power and realise your own. The mob has alway ruled, they just dont push it.

if anything significant happens, like the key for the security file is put up, make sure you guys put it up. as for now, the leaks aren't substantial. really. still interesting reads though.

Washington is running a secret intelligence campaign targeted at the leadership of the United Nations, including the secretary general, Ban Ki-moon and the permanent security council representatives from China, Russia, France and the UK.

A classified directive which appears to blur the line between diplomacy and spying was issued to US diplomats under Hillary Clinton's name in July 2009, demanding forensic technical details about the communications systems used by top UN officials, including passwords and personal encryption keys used in private and commercial networks for official communications.

www.guardian.co.uk...

biometric scans of UN Security Council members.
what is this for so the US can clone them and
get them to vote as they want?

And Hilary Clinton's name all over it.

Correct me if I'm wrong though, hasn't the UK government issued some sort of order (Can't remember the term for it) that anything that would constitute a threat to eh British National Security can't be released via UK media. I read a thread about this yesterday. In light of that do you really expect a British paper to release any of the cables that have the real groundbreaking info in them? Everything we're getting thus far has been filtered through the MSM.

May well be the really juicy stuff won't hit the surface until WL either publishes the key to the insurance document, or posts all the cables themselves.

ETA: Are the orders called a D-notice?

Well so far 95% is concerning Iran. However, the one regarding how to deal with defectors is quite interesting.
Anyone heard of the rewards for justice program?

Going to be tired at work tomorrow, thats for sure!

Peace

Is this a joke?
Besides the U.S. spying on the U.N. everything else is just basically gossip and "We need to invade Iran" propaganda, there are a few kinda of embarrassing things but nothing ground breaking, most of the stuff we already knew or suspected was going on, just like the last leak this seems to be a controlled information release.
I don't know why we keep falling for it.

This is without doubt absolutely freaking enourmous.
I agree. I just hope that what this leak signifies is that there is @least 1 person in a trusted capacity within the apparatus of US Govt. that believes the integrity of what the USA once stood for can withstand the shame of what it has become, with a view to doing a damn sight better in future.

Btw, any apologists, please dont resort to the logical fallacy "they do this so its ok if we do that". It'd not only be boring, lower the tone of ATS & be easily crushed as a position, but would also prove personally embarrassing.

spying on the the UN is illegal

The UN has previously asserted that bugging the secretary general is illegal, citing the 1946 UN convention on privileges and immunities which states: "The premises of the United Nations shall be inviolable.

the Patriot Act just superseded The United Nations directive.
