Report: TSA worker abducts woman from Hartsfield-Jackson

www.ajc.com

A TSA employee based at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson tried to kill himself after allegedly abducting a young woman from the airport, sexually assaulting her then giving her a suicide note to deliver.

Well there ya go... completely crazed TSA members....

These are the folks we want groping our children? Really?

Please keep in mind, this didn't happen AT the airport, but the assailant is/was a TSA employee at the Atlanta Airport.

Please get this out to your congressman, as the TSA continues to say "OH WELL!" these types of situations need to be brought to light and TSA forced to answer why this is allowed to happen given their background check procedures...

Sickening... don't forget that TSA has been busted in the past using federal funding to buy coc aine and other illegal drugs by it's employees. So we have drug-crazed sexual predators groping us and looking at our naked bodies on x-ray machines? Is this some twisted nation-sized porno shoot? Wth is going on here? Are these government fools bat# insane?

I'm amazed... just simply amazed....

As far as I'm concerned TSA folks need to have DOD clearances if it really is for our own security...

I am having a minor problem with this story.

The LaGrange Daily News reports that Randall Scott King, whose age was not released, grabbed the woman Wednesday night from a MARTA parking lot then took her to his house in Hogansville.

So he grabbed her from a parking lot and abuducted her.

The alleged victim and assailant were not strangers. "They left the airport together voluntarily," Hartsfield-Jackson spokeswoman Katena Carvajales told the AJC.

But first they left together?

The only way it makes sense is that they left the building together and then he took her from the parking lot but the way it is written leads me to believe there is more missing than that.

I am not saying nothing happened, but I am not sure this makes good anti TSA ammo just yet.

Regardless of the details of the assault...

The cops are involved and have arrested the man, so there is something going on...

At the end of the day, you can't trust the TSA because any lowlife can get a job with them.

I live in Atlanta and the AJC is the legitimate, major, local news source.

I've been in half the ATS threads trying to keep hyperbolic things from getting out of hand. But this one I cannot begin to defend, other than to say it's only rational to look at this a a troubled persons behavior and NOT the TSA at large.

The timing of this does reinforce my thoughts that we are being led, coached, and provoked with all of this TSA stuff. This organization has been around for awhile and, suddenly, it's a bigger issue than Katrina, the BP spill, and the Ground Zero Mosque all rolled into one?

I find that unfathomably suspect.

However, if the TSA was mandated to have DOD security clearances... most of these troubled individuals would be filtered out...

That is why it stands out to me that these two people were not strangers. Seeing as how they knew each other, it seems far more likely this was a personal issue and not some TSA agent gone crazy horny from looking at 12 year old girl body scans and grabbing little bots testes all day.

I beg to differ. I feel that the details are actually rather important. It is clear that people want to use anything and everything to tar the entire TSA. So far, I see details that would indicated this was one very troubled relationship between two aquaintences and not a symptom of the TSA.

But what you forget is that the guy, who was a TSA agent HAD DEEP EMOTIONAL ISSUES!!!!!

Stop defending these low wage earning, uneducated hicks that you allow to play with your jiggly bits...

The mere fact that no one "knows why they are doing it, its just their job" and no one is accountable is enough for me to say the entire operation should be scrapped and started from square one

When did I forget that? I know a smart and well informed poster such as yourself would never claim to be able to read my mind from where you are, nor would you just make up something about me and attack it so I think I need you to claify.

Again, you seem to be making up stuff. You are looking for a fight you are not going to get from me. I never once actually defended anyone. I never defended this man or the TSA as a whole.

Can you please show me the part of the article that explains abduction and rape is being done as "just their job?" I certainly missed that.

I understand that since I did not come in screaming all TSA agents need to be hung, I must be defending them to some folks. The reality is I have not even attemtped to defend anyone in this thread, nor did I lose track of the emotional instability of a suicidal rapist.

Me too. I think they are going too far with the Scans and the pat-downs in order to make a more insidious alternative more palatable for the public at large. Stun bracelets at the airport, then RFID chips later on.

Government Issued Stun Shock Bracelets for all Airline Passengers

The taser component won't be allowed at first. Then there will be an incident that makes the taser necessary. Then because the "bracelets" will become too expensive to be provided for planes, trains, buses, rental cars and ferries, it will be necessary for the population to have RFID chips. Slippery slope.

You will never have a conversation with someone who only defends a position and will not address needs, when negotiating,
and that's what life is, constant negotiating.
The only time you will hear anything remotely open minded and negotiable is when it is their legs in irons or them experiencing their final violation.
This whole TSA thing is designed for a reason and these arguments are part of it, more division, nothing changes, as a matter of fact I'd bet something is sneaking past us right now that we're too distracted to notice.

I agree with the person here that said it is becoming a witch hunt.

I over reacted on another thread today where apparently "TSA AGENTS TOOK MY SON!!!". Turns out they didn't at all, they did their job and the mum was lieing. Not before many people, including myself had almost called for the TSA to all be burnt at the stake.

TSA agents took my son!!!,

How many people commit suicide every day? Lots, from all different occupations. I knew a scientist who commited suicide a few years ago. Does that mean we stop believing in crazy science? I knew an accountant who had had enough, do we stop using all accountants?

All i'm saying is be very carefull about going hysterical over every TSA story that comes out at the moment.

I'm also wondering who and why thay started referring to these TSA workers as "agents", when they are security officers or TSA employees. The term "agents" does sound more sinister though so i guess if there was a witch hunt on, that would work better.

My point is this simply...

Without DOD level security clearances being required, and special background checks which include talking to people who knew you , up to and including your high school teachers, these people shouldn't be allowed to access anything that has to do with privacy of our citizens.

I'm not arguing about the need for security screening... I'm saying that these folks need to shoulder the burden/requirements of having a DOD security clearance. And though that isn't 100% effective, it will remove a lot of these low hanging situations.

Each TSA member should have a SSBI, and if they don't they shouldn't be able to work as a TSA agent.

I personally have no use for the TSA in its current form.
