Yes yes yes, we've heard the talking points before.

Republicans hate the poor, blacks, women, children, mexicans, animials, italians, muslims, buddhists, the environment ad nauseum.

Only the Democrats care.

Great Post

They don’t have any answers for their non-human philosophy of love, protect, and coddle the rich and damn the poor and the near poor.

These people are brainwashed by the elite to hate “socialism” and “communism” that BTW they don’t even understand

They particularly despise any help going to minorities

They though love the rich and powerful
They will love them to death

The biggest business and companies that never seem to go under is the companies that make and supply the equipment, arms, vehicles, clothing to the military. The military spends a lot of money, that makes it way into the economy to pay for these things. And ultimately the military is in the job to defend and to kill the enemy. To paraphrase General Patton: You do not win a war by dieing for your country, you win a war by making the other guy die for his.
And the military spends time and money to ensure that those who serve are well trained in a range of fields to accomplish this.
You complain about the large military bases, however, it is those presences that have managed to keep the peace, along with outspending the biggest competitor that the US had for the longest time, forced it to change. The Soviet Union was not defeated on a military field of battle, rather it was defeated because it could not keep up with the financial might of the US, combined with the military forces and technical innovations that were coming out. Seems like every time a round of base closures are announced, both the Republicans and the Democrats fight like cats and dogs, to keep the bases in their states open, as that is a steady revenue and tax base for their states.
You ask me why we take care of our former military members, the question is how can we not do such? Do you think it would be fair to ask a person to kill another or even die in the line of duty in combat, and not offer them something that would ensure that they would be willing to do the job all of the way to the end? Think about it, would you go out, put your own life on the line for your country and then not expect something in return? No, and neither should we even ask why support them? Many of the ex-military officers and soldiers come back and are desired in the job market cause they are disciplined and are willing to go the extra mile to get a job done.
At one time, we did not take care of the military in times past and that nearly ended up being disastrous, as no one wanted to join, and be willing to put their life on the line, and then if that were to happen, are you willing to be there to stand behind your son, your brother, your cousin as they are drafted to go off and die, and their families, widows, children are left out in the cold or be willing to take care of them when they come home injured and not able to care for themselves? No, you would not, as it would end up making harder for a family. So we need to care for those who are willing to risk their lives for so many.
