Did you expect me to argue with you? I completely agree. The political centre is where all parties want to be because their focus groups and PR consultants identify where the votes are maximised. Occupying this area is increasingly contentious. The algorithms are very similar. The dominant parties in Australia are centre right or centre left hence they all talk the same and have slight differences that only the Media pundits can identify.

That's not very nice - especially as I wrote this thread to try and clear up some misconceptions. I wont try and justify myself to your post, but I think you should try and do some reading around what you have put above. You might find many people disagree with your analysis.

Well the BBC news has now run a piece on Sal Russo on the Arizona shooting. This Tea party strategist has clearly selectively identified Mein kampf and the Communist Party Manifesto as being indicative of left wing leaning.

I contend that the Tea Party is the party of complete political ignorance and confusion. How an earth can anyone with more than two active brain cells link Hitlers Book to the Left.

Sorry you have a steep climb to deny ignorance.

Just to clarify - your last point was directed at the analyst yes?

You are right in your assessment - linking Mein Kampf (National Socialism... Fascism) with a Communist Party Manifesto is indicative of varied political reading, nothing more.

How terrific - someone from the UK telling us where parties lie in the US - especially the Tea Party which you have absolutely no knowledge of other than slanted and biased reporting. Speaking from someone that was involved in the Tea Party - you have no clue what you are talking about. Try to get a hold of some independent news sources and get your facts straight.

I am a US citizen living in the UK so get your facts correct. I am denying ignorance. Are you? Are you connecting location to correct ideas and a failed attempt to deny ignorance? It is people like you who made me leave the US anyway.

FYI I did not put words in Sal Russo's mouth. He believed Mein Kampf was read by the left not me so take it up with him after you have watched the BBC news online

Please, don't take my comments and assessments the wrong way. That's all they are, comments, and assessments, nothing that I would suggest that is presented as fact. I happen to know a fair bit about the Tea Party, what they used to be, and what they are now. Like you, I'm entitled to my viewpoints. MY viewpoint is that the Tea Party has been invaded and usurped by hawkish, super religious right-wingers. But then, that's just my opinion - and I didn't get it from the TV.

I will ignore your ad hom towards British people. Also folks, please keep this thread on topic about the LANGUAGE used to describe political direction and perception.

Where on earth could you have come to the conclusion that the TEA Party has been taken over by "hawkish super religious right-wingers" if not TV?
NPR?
DailyKos?
Or, did you just happen to travel the USA and participate in numerous TEA Party rallies?
If you actually knew the TEA Party, the real one, you would know it has not gone anywhere, it just has some Neocons trying to steal their thunder. And, you would know that it is not, and will not work.
