I'm not really a 'computer guy' so I don't have a clue what kind of software it could be or how serious something like that is. It just sounded a bit offputting, hence my sharing it.

The forum was going good, but it seems a troll is trying to derail it.

We know that wikileaks members do get together and work (hence the rape thingy doodle, how's that for a technical term?)...so the possibility that they are using OTPs is not so outrageous.

But I doubt seriously that they'd ever use a name for a password on an impt file. These guys know what they are doing. Their passcodes are probably generated via Whisper.

1.4gb is more like the size of a compressed movie-length file.. like if you were to illegaly download a copy.

Also the password is going to be long and would likely be a mix of different characters and not JUST letters.
Also it was probably put together in OpenSSL and might have to be extracted through it as well.

And I'm not going to betray the anon that said it by spilling the beans on who he is.

This has been explained earlier in the thread, many times. The timestamps are frozen unless you log into twitter.

Oh okay. Sorry I've been getting my information from other places and none of them have mentioned the 2 minute thing so I had no idea. I wasn't willing to read through 20+ pages to see if it was mentioned here. xD

hilarious like every four pages someone comes on this thread and thinks they are helping us out and updating us by posting what the wikileaks twitter feed has said for the last 16 hours....its great, I swear you can almost guarantee it, every 3 or 4 pages and someone posts that exact same message. so can everyone please just read a couple a pages before you post.

I feel really stupid for even bringing it up now.

Alright guys.

The general public needs to be informed.

The fact is we all now recognize how real this actually is.

We need to get the word out. With the media "blackout" the public has no idea what's happening. Only a fraction of the population has any idea this is going down.

Bombard Twitter, CNN iReports, Yahoo Questions, Forums, Facebook if you so choose.

Inform the masses.

If you guys have any interest in actually DOING something instead of just talking about it I suggest we start organizing some kind of campaign to spread the word.

You all act like this is so serious but honestly this is the most important thing we can do until the actual password is given to us.

The public has no idea this showdown is happening.

The PUBLIC doesn't WANT to know it is happening.

The public is standing around going baaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaa

and they are happy in their fense, with their little bit of grass.

I'm fed up with them. I'm just totally fed up with them.

I want friends that THINK. I guess that's why I hang around here.
